My wife and I stayed here at the weekend with our two children and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The new owners (Jean and Peter) made us feel very welcome and made our stay a very comfortable one. The room was very clean and well made, with a large bathroom. Good selection of beers and ales to choose from and the food was excellent - I had the Lamb Shank and my wife had the lasagne (I also had the lemon sponge with custard for dessert and the chef certainly wasn't tight with his portion). I would highly recommend and we will be back very soon.

What a cracking meal , love coming to Coniston. But have never visited the shop inn before . Huge genourous portions . I had the steak and black pudding pie , it’s was fab . Highly recommended.

Super friendly place! Food was quick and delicious and reasonably priced, and they let us camp in the car park 👍🏻 dog friendly too!!🐶🐾

We went to the Ship Inn on our honeymoon with our Shepadooble dog. The food was delicious, I have garlic mushroom for starters which is in a lovely sauce and salmon with asparagus and mash potato, which also had a nice sauce to accompany it. At 8pm they had live folk music who were great and the full pub had a welcoming atmosphere, would definitely recommend to anyone staying nearby or going past to pop in.

Great no-nonsense pub, traditional pub food and good ales. Busy but good attentive service. Very generous food portions with a great quality and very affordable. The ship burger, fish and chips and the pies are all delicious 👍🏼👍🏼 Butcher quality burgers and meat. Great pies! Worth a little stroll out on the trail behind the pub, if you are in the town. Easy walk from the nearby campsite down trails and off the road.

Stopped for a quick half on a walk from Coniston. Nice pub, so stayed for lunch. Good food, too.

Good Food, taste was quite smokey but well cooked burger and steak. A bit on the expensive side buti guess the place and the view are worth the price. The whole architecture has a vintave vibe and outside area is full of greens.

Great home cooked food. Friendly service. Chilled atmosphere. Traditional Pub great choice of beers. We have been three times now as love the place. Not made the menu yet as they have great specials on the board which haven’t disappointed. Everyone is so welcoming and even get given treats for the dog. Definitely a must if you are in the area.

Visited this week, lovely friendly cosy pub. Great home cooked food and a nice selection of beers, particularly the Dizzy Blonde. Lucky to find a spot in the car park for our campervan.🚎

A lovely cosy bar and restaurant. Roaring fire and comfortable surroundings. Perfect to get out of the rain for a while. The food was delicious and the place is dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed my visit. They were happy for us to bring our dog, Bernard and gave him his own bar snack- 2 pork sausages.
