We stopped in for lunch and ordered a small fish chips- neither portion was particularly small, but both were delicious, with the best chips I've had in awhile. I would definitely recommend it!
What a beautiful find. We stayed here on Saturday, to celebrate our friends birthday. Absolutely thrilled with every thing. Room was immaculate, tea n coffee, biscuits, even fly spray in toilet but didn't need it!! The view was amazing from our window across the dales for miles. Had a meal in the Resturant couldn't-fault any of it. The quality and quantity was top 5 star. Breakfast was to this morning so much to choose from. A excellent family run pub.. we will be back. Lovely meeting you all and your great team of workers.

What a great place to stay we had a wonderful room for the evening, had the most amazing food on Saturday night and an excellent breakfast on the Sunday morning, a great location to explore the eastern side of the Dales. Special thanks to the staff and in particular Ned, his customer service is second to none, front of house and customer service is up there with the best, would not hesitate coming back to stay and to eat the beautiful food again - 5 star *****
What a find! Some of the best pub food we've ever eaten. Ned is an asset to the pub, polite, warm,, funny and an absolute advocate for the pub. We'll definitely come back
1st class. Not cheap but the food more than lives up to the price. Cask Ale, tea and coffee. French onion soup a must, Sirloin steak cooked to my liking and hake to die for. Lovely surroundings, friendly helpful staff and dog friendly. Would absolutely recommend
Lovely countryside location and a warm and hospitable establishment with a lovely breakfast. Ned who welcomed us was particularly excellent and we appreciated all the useful info and warm welcome during our stay.
Found this great pub on search for sites. Went in for a pint some food and asked if it was ok to park up for the night. Ned was working behind the bar and he said that would be fine he was exceptionally professional and curtious to all the customers, as was the lady working that night.
The Battered fish with chips, peas and homemade tartar sauce was probably the best I've had, cooked to perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Wyvill Arms and would recommend it to all to try.
I don’t think I’ve ever left a review for a stay in my lifetime but the young man who served us throughout our stay here really made all the difference, such an incredibly lovely person who makes you feel so welcome. It was a pleasure to have met such a gentleman.
A True Gem in North Yorkshire: The Wyvill Arms.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Wyvill Arms in Constable Burton, North Yorkshire, and it was an experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot into this charming establishment, I knew I had stumbled upon a hidden gem. Not only is it located in one of the most beautiful regions of North Yorkshire, but the attention to detail and warm atmosphere make it a standout choice.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and welcoming barman, Ned. His pleasant demeanor set the tone for the entire visit. It was evident that The Wyvill Arms has been meticulously designed and carefully curated, with a considerable investment of time, money, and effort.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to meet the owner and chef. When I mentioned my Hooked on Flavour competition, he immediately expressed his interest and said, "Enter me in that one," with a proud North Yorkshire accent. And let me tell you, the fish and chips that arrived at my table definitely earned a place in my top three. The fish was incredibly fresh and delightfully chunky, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds.
The attention to detail extends beyond the culinary delights. The rooms at The Wyvill Arms are of the highest standard, leaving no expense spared. Every aspect has been carefully considered, from the top-quality beds and pillows to the charming Axminster carpets that perfectly complement the character of the building.
If you're looking for an authentic North Yorkshire experience, The Wyvill Arms should undoubtedly be at the top of your list. Whether you're planning a short visit or a week-long stay, this place has it all. It's truly remarkable and rare to witness a family of brothers and sisters running such a beautiful establishment with passion and dedication. Furthermore, the presence of electrical hook-ups for motorized mobile homes is an added convenience that sets this place apart.
The Wyvill Arms is a truly remarkable establishment and it mustn't be missed if you find yourself in the area. With its rich tradition of being a family-run, freehold property, it encapsulates the essence of North Yorkshire's hospitality. I am incredibly grateful to Nigel and his team for providing such a memorable experience.
