Max's Place

I miss Max's place in the morning now that we have moved to Kimberley. Stopped in on Friday to pick up a treat for another local business, the staff are always so welcoming and positive in the morning. Any of the food options from sandwiches to quiche, muffins to cookies are wicked good. Myra loves the espresso. Thanks for being awesome. On a side note the store looks amazing in the winter time with Christmas lights on the street and the windows all fogged up in the AM! My favorite from here is the ham and cheese quiche, best enjoyed in the morning, out on the patio, with the sun warming you.

We happened upon this bakery while on a business trip to cranbrook and we are so happy we did. They serve our favourite coffee (Kicking Horse) and even sell it by the bag. But the real highlight of this place is the service and the ah-may-zing cinnamon buns with cream cheese icing 😋 👌 😍 quite literally the best cinnamon buns and icing we have ever had, and we went ahead and ordered a dozen that we are picking up fresh tomorrow morning on our way out of town. The service was the friendliest, warmest, most helpful service we have experienced anywhere in a very long time. We will be back here every time we are back in town and we highly recommend it!

I always feel panicked at the till to pick what I want, no matter if there is a line or I am alone. The servers have gotten more rude and condescending the more I go. They seem to hint at tips when their attitude is lousy and they do nothing to serve besides rush any decisions you have to make. I especially think the red head server is especially rude. I have left when I've seen her working before. But it has now gotten to the point I don't want to go to Max's Place at all. I LOVE supporting local. But i get better service and prices at Timmy's. Good news is the owner is amazing and the pastries are great.
