Review The Red Lion - Crawley Down

Lovely traditional little pub, with a spacious garden, tucked away in Turners Hill. Really good food and not too expensive. Highly recommend the Ploughman's if you're hungry!

A lovely pub with lots of knick-knacks to look at. Fantastic hosts, who could not have done any more to make us feel welcome. There were 8 (7adults and a 2 year old) of us that decided to pop in as we were looking for somewhere to go for a meal after pumpkin picking. Excellent food that was freshly made to order. Great sized portions. Thanks for helping us enjoy a lovely afternoon.

My wife and I met old friends here for lunch yesterday. We can't praise the welcome we received and the food too highly. The lamb shank and chicken and leek pie were excellent as were the desserts. Gemma and her team ensured that this was a very special and memorable occasion. We will definitely be coming back.

Went to this pub a few times during our 2 week holiday in Turners Hill August 2023. The pub is “undone’ & full of charm & character. They only serve food for lunch which is generous & delicious and includes that rare breed, a sandwich menu. Check out the beef pie as well. The pub is frequented by many local characters & hosted by the low key & ever helpful landlord Mick.

I love this pub it's proper pub with interesting decor ( there's a suit of armor.) The landlord is great and he's got really nice dog!

Lovely "Proper pub". None of your corporate chain nonsense. Cosy nooks, open fires, no music, amazing pies (seriously) and friendly service. Nice garden with great views also.

Fabulous place. Friendly locals friendly landlords, delicious food! We even from time to time bring the horses down for a quick one and are always welcome! Also very dog friendly pub. One of my favourite places around !!
