Seafood heaven! The best place to eat in Nth Norfolk. Service, ambience both excellent. Perfect for couples
Exceptional seafood dishes & 5 star service-can't wait to return again
Couldn't fault our visit, the choice or the friendliness of the staff.......only thing I could fault is having to share my dinner with a 2 year old who has become a seafood addict since our visit!!!
Will definitely be back for more xXx
The pictures on the Internet are out of date, they are serving a reduced menu at the moment (out of season) its not cheap but the food is good quality and offers a good variety even with the smaller offering, it's well situated with sea views the staff are friendly and welcoming although a little inconsistent each not trained to the same level
Update review: very dissapointed dinner as the quality compare to the past is so different. Previously, their seafood portion was big and huge variety with a reasonable price. However, I had a tiny half lobster for £40... Here's the photo. Again, dissapointed.
Very fresh seafood. We had a Cliftonville Sharing Seafood Platter Served Chilled (£45). The price is reasonable since the sea food's quality is excellent. The seafood was very tasty and the portion suited 2 person perfectly. Among all of the seafood, crab and hot smoked salmon were the best. The salmon doesn't have the horrible fishy smell (Compare to others place). The salmon looks a bit dry from its appearance but actually it was very tender and it wasn't dry at all. The crab was well prepared which they help us to separate the meat from its shell. So we can keep our hands clean at all time. Most of the seafood doesn't seasoned a lot (Just some simple seasoning like salt etc.) which give us the original taste of it. The waiter is quite friendly and the restaurant is cozy. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Never regret visited here. 👍👍👍👍👍
Came here on the Eat Out To Help Out scheme and had the seabass and half lobster/whole crab mains which were both very nice. The dining area was pretty packed inside but they were good in their Covid-19 measures as all the cutlery and glasses were covered with plastic bags which they ask you to take off and they sanitise the ketchup/mayo bottles in front of you - some may call it over the top, but it's good to know that they are doing their best. The only downside was that the service was a bit wooden at times, but at least it was efficient and pretty fast.
After a days work I booked a single place at Boltons Bistro restaurant. As a Google Local Guide, the aspects I most look for are WWW - water, wifi and wait time - and the result for my meal were - Water - yes, brought straight away, Wifi - I had to move from my seat in a corner to get the signal to enter my email, but once in, it was plain sailing, Wait time was 7 minutes 10 sec for the first course and once my plate was cleared a further 4 min 3 sec for my main. I ticked this as very good.
My starter was Garlic Butter Poached Crab Claws with Lemon mayonnaise. Think of crab with lemon curd. Personally this was spot on. The main was Slow Roasted Saddle, Seared Lamb Cutlet and Braised Shepherd's Pie with fondant potatoes. The pie came in a ceramic pot and initially I thought it was just mashed pototo. However, a spicy minced meat was underneath. Once again, it tasted delicious.
The menu had disappeared early on so I was left to recall what the meal was but I asked for a copy. Meal cost £21 with a short glug of wine. Probably a 4.5, but I err on the positive to give it a 5/5. Well worth popping in.
We popped in here on a whim and we were very impressed!
Food was presented beautifully and was delicious. Service was very professional and friendly. We would definitely recommend.
I had their Norfolk sausage roll and a flapjack and both were delicious.
Polite, friendly and professional staff, and a nice environment 10/10
Refurbished restaurant looks very inviting. We ate in the bar which was comfortable. Very attentive staff. Food was OK. 2 small glasses of Pic Poule cost £18.
