Review The Coach And Horses - Croxley Green

The Online Driving Instructor
A lovely friendly pub. Very popular with the locals of Croxley Green but you’re made to feel very welcome on arrival. Seating outside front garden & also out the back garden which is nice, but over looks the car park. The car park can get full at peak times but not normally a problem to find somewhere local to park. Dogs are allowed both inside & outside and on the few occasions we have visited there has always been many dogs here. The vibe seems really chill & relaxed. Food is good, I always go for the superfood salad as it’s simply the most amazing thing which sounds strange for a salad but it’s amazing!

Really lovely food and great service. The calamari was lovely, as was the rub eye steak that I had. A couple of the others had the scampi and both said it's the best they have ever had. Everyone in our party said how nice everything was. Definitely be back soon.

Really lovely little pub. Very dog friendly with a dog menu served in dog bowls.. Which ours loved! The food, we had roasts were delicious. Service great, location lovely. We did a nice little 2 mile circular walk that started and finished at the pub. Perfect Sunday. Will definitely return

Driving pass recently and popped in mid week for an early llight lunch and was blown away by the quailty of the food and really enjoyed the outdoor seating area in summer sun. If I am ever back in the area I will be sure to visit again.

I recently celebrated my 40th Birthday with a meal at the Coach and Horses, Croxley Green and had a really enjoyable experience. Louisa and the team were extremely friendly and attentive and the roast dinners were excellent and really good value for money. Will definitely be returning.

This pub has a great atmosphere and really good service. My burger meat was delicious. Best around. They catered for gluten free. The kids lunchbox was perfect for my three year old. The fries were only ok. The mayonnaise was terrible and took away from a great meal. Covid precautions being followed well here.

A great beer garden which would be even better in the sun. Fantastic Sunday Roast and the staff were efficient and friendly will be looking to return

Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff and made my wife feel very special with the message, balloons and free glass of bubbly. We were happy before we'd even eaten and the food was just as good as the service. Scotch egg - OUTSTANDING! Roast beef, delicious. Cheesecake, very good quality. Looking forward to returning!

A great little pub and plenty of space in the beer garden during the summer days, would recommend if passing by for a pint 👍

A superb, what I call traditional country pub. I've been here a few times and would highly recommend either the Mighty Meat Platter or the Classic Signature 13 Handmade burger. It has a wonderful little beer garden and is such pleasant place to relax and enjoy some tranquillity in the sun (when its out). Equally they have a log burning fire which is nice to enjoy on a cold winters evening. Definitely pay them a visit as it wont disappoint.

Superb, independent pub and a restaurant with a terrific menu. All food is cooked freshly to order, so there may be more of a wait for it to be served, but it's worth the wait because It is tasty and very enjoyable. There is even a roaring log fire when it's chilly. The toilets were recently renovated I was informed when I complimented them, so they are generally good. Yesterday (Saturday), however, there was a slight glitch: the restaurant and bar were extra busy and this had emptied both toilet tissue dispensers in the ladies loo and all the paper, from one of the spare rolls provided instead, in one of the two ladies' cubicles had run out too. The deficiency was promptly remedied once the staff was advised of it. I've now eaten here at two different times of the day and therefore from its two menus, one for evenings whereas the other is available from 11am, I believe. My meals on both occasions were excellent, as were my partner's, and I loved the dessert! On the second occasion, with other members of my family, the whole party was greatly impressed and definitely wants to return on a future date.

Booked a table for lunch for daughter, grandchildren and trainee guide dog for the blind and I'm so glad I did. Liam and Oliver were lovely and provided fantastic service. Prices very good. My mark of a good place to eat is the quality of the chips. If there are good then the rest of the food will be. The chips were great and it followed that the food was too and plenty of it Bramble the dog loved the garden which had plenty of shade and the kids love playing with the swing and climbing frame. I'm giving this place FIVE CHIPS OUT OF FIVE.

Was here yesterday for dinner, menu was extremely limited and when we ordered the 1/2 chicken we were told it was a typo and it was actually chicken supreme. Lamb and chicken were both cooked very well and were tasty, however the beef burger was revolting, the accompanying vegetables were cooked for what must have been a split second and were almost raw. Service was particularly slow and staff were bickering amongst themselves. Plates of food had been spilled by staff in the outside eating area, and just left, no attempt to clean up...overall really disappointing, and certainly not worth the price.

You took over a lovely, well run pub just a few months ago, already it's plummeted!! The main attraction of the pub for many is the kids play area, maybe in the morning wipe the bird shit off the slide!! When the wood starts to rot because you haven't treated it, replace it!! When you serve a roast dinner if the gravy has congealed and the Yorkshire looks like it's been rolled, don't serve it!! Simple things make for a place you'll come back to, if you can't arsed then charge me Weatherspoons prices!!!!

Had a great lunch and found the food excellent and reasonably priced. also the menu was very good and varied. The pub has a dog friendly area that is very useful for us. Will definitely be returning soon

Just been to enjoy Sunday Lunch just wonderful the selection and quality of our Sunday roasts was perfect. The lamb, beef and the pork were generous in their portion sizes and cooked very well. Friendly staff and good food what more can you ask for on a damp spring Sunday

We went to the Coach and Horses for dinner and had a lovely meal, defiantly the best pub food in the village.

Very friendly and cosy, only critic would be not that many tables to just sit and have a drink at . Few were reserved. Will def go back though

Absolutely shocking! Never have I experienced such bad service & poor management. We pre booked a table for 2pm today, short story we waited 2hrs for our order (having to buy our daughters crisps to tie them over as they so hungry!). When it did arrive the waitress dropped a whole lasagne on one of our party, ok she didn't do it deliberately and the waiting staff were all young girls (one of which was extremely sarcastic) used as a smoke screen for extremely poor management but she'd also dropped a glass and neither mess was cleaned up till we pointed it out. The food was inedible and cold then to be told by the manager he'd 'prioritised us' as we'd booked in advance was an insult. Poor excuses followed. I strongly advise you DO NOT to eat here. I can see it's a lovely pub for a drink but even our rounds took 20 mins to arrive.

This is no longer a pub it's trying to be a top class restaurant. Food is way over priced stupid size portions. Won't bother going to eat there again, such a shame it was a lovely place to go & eat far too expensive now

We had an evening meal here. Burgers and chips all around and there wasn't a bit left on the plate. (Kids or us). New owners, food is a vast improvement from the last. Thank you!

Vastly overpriced - mediocre food. May I point out that serving food on wooden platters or in enamel dishes does not elevate said food to gourmet status and neither does it entitle you to charge outrageous prices ! (£3.50 for 8 chips? ! really? REALLY?)
Natasha L Humphries
The staff are lovely but the food and childrens meal are extremely over priced! 3 chicken nuggets and a few chips is not a plate of food or worth £7

After a bad experience at a local pub we walked to the coach and horses and were treated really well! The bar staff were so friendly. After getting a table very Last minute our waiter Rob was fab! Thanks for the wicked espresso martini see you soon x

Just had an early evening meal with my partner and two children at The Coach and Horses! What a terrible shame! Having been several times last year I was very disappointed in the state of the place! The children's play area was run down and tired, the garden area was filthy and totally out of cutlery and condiments! Although it was only 5pm. It took an hour and a half for the over priced revolting meals to arrive! The kids burger looked awful, over cooked and totally inedible. The steak and ale pie was over cooked and dried out. The lasagne was tasteless and the side salad had brown soggy lettuce leaves! The garlic bread was cold and soggy. Twice I went into the bar area to order more drinks and twice I was ignored by the scruffy miserable bar maid, I gave up. We ended up leaving our drinks and the last of our meals, didn't bother ordering the kids ice creams and left to drive somewhere else to finish our evening. I would not recommend visiting this place. It's a huge shame as it used to be lovely.
