Lovely pub. Been here a few times with work colleagues. Was a problem with food this eve, but manager went out of his way to accommodate our group. Friendly staff, great service. Many thanks 👍😀

I've found this spot some time ago, frankly it needs a mention. Easily one of the most under rated venues in Croydon. The staff are down to earth, helpful and add a vibrant splash of colour to the place, those they come into contact with love them. Thanks in particular to Amanda and Zoe for their service, made my visit extra special. Will update with further visit and share for one and all. People give them a try!! ❤️
Visited recently after seeing a post on Facebook. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and me and my friends went through the cocktails! Staff were friendly and enjoyed the boxing! Will be back for a lunch date soon.

What a good experience we just had. The food was excellent, the prices were fair and the portions of the dishes were plentiful.
The staff is extremely friendly and the overall atmosphere of the place homely and warm.
Can't find the management email address but Gill/Jill (don't know the spelling!) was working on Sunday evening & a stranger acted a little strangely towards me - she came over & told me that if I was uncomfortable then to tell her & she would deal with it. Really appreciated her care after a long day & always enjoy a place that looks after their customers.
I've been here often & not had an issue with strangers like this so it's good to know that on one-off situations the staff are trained on how to help 🥰

Haven't been in for a while now but popped in today with a buddy & we both really liked what we found, the staff where very friendly, the all day breakfast was lovely (decent price too) and worked off food with a bit of sport on the pool table of which there's not too many left in the town centre... reckon this pub may have just found two new regulars 😃
What a little gem of a pub, the place is clean and tidy, the staff seem really nice. I loved the music selection, such a lovely atmosphere.. I went for a burger and waffle fries, it was sooooo tasty.. keep up the good work market tavern 👌🏼
Just ate here and felt like I had to write a review because the service was so good!! I had the quorn buttermilk chicken with curry sauce and chips and it was delicious. The lady that served me was so kind and friendly, she made me feel so welcomed. I’ll be coming back to try the cauli wings!!
Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Great place to watch football and the food is tasty too, love the burgers!
Superb service for Christmas Dinner on Dec 1st. Right from the start with a beautiful table display to the end with our very own disco the staff couldn't have been nicer. Many thanks for a great evening

Good beer, good selection to choose from and good food; but the best nights are when Gill is working. Great service, and so lovely to speak to and gets to know everyone personally to provide the best service. An absolute asset to the place.

A cozy place to catch up for drinks and quick bar nibbles or some good fingerfood
We have a snooker table on one corner , some old slot machines and a live projector which would be used during evenings for broadcasting some soccer matches
The staff are dutiful and they are really good at things and are knowledgeable
The collection of beer and other drinks is great
Was at the Market tavern during the weekend with my best friends to try few drinks and some fingerfood
Loved the experience a sublime one .

As the name says it all it is an iconic ale of the capital city of United Kingdom 🇬🇧
It has an ABV of 4.1%
It is a tan coloured ale that has dried fruit a bit of sweet raisin and biscuit notes to it
It’s brewed entirely from home grown hop varieties which is rich , smooth and quite elegant on ones palate and has a fine balance of bitterness to it
Food pairing for this : goes well with roast chicken as the caramel notes of beer perfectly compliment the caramelised skin of chicken 🍗 🍻
Next one I tried is
Doom bar beer 🍺
This one is the sharp brewery’s flagship ale yet again
It has a ABV of 4.0%
Has a taste of lightly roasted malt with succulent dried fruit notes
It is Morris’s and has subtle bitterness to it
Food paring : goes well with grilled fish or battered calamari
Beers on tap are great
Tried the battered onion rings which are good 😊
On the whole a great place to unwind during weekends
