We fancied a curry, and have driven past this restaurant many times and thought we should try it. I'm glad we did. It's got all the usual curry offerings on the menu, but also has Nepalese dishes. We tried the Momo (dumplings) as a starter, the vegetable ones, and they were lovely, with unusual spicing. I had a lamb special main, OH had chicken korma and both were very tasty. With three Gurkha beers (very nice) the bill came to under £40, which I consider very good value for money for the quality of the food and excellence of service.

Loved it!!!!
The food was delicious, with the right amount of spice. The service was great, staff were very polite and very friendly. I have been to so many Nepalese restaurant, must say this is the only Nepalese restaurant that has provided great food with great service. Will be going back again.

Really good food, mostly Nepalese as you'd expect from a restaurant name and exceptionally friendly service.
Much improved after a recent refurbishment and change of ownership; was very good before but rather tatty inside.
If they work to improve the current standards consistently I'll be back to edit this review to give it five stars; what lost it this time was some dirty cutlery I had to ask to be changed and a plate which was also less than perfectly clean.

Recently this place has come under new ownership in the last couple of months. As an old regular I can honestly say the food has improved a lot.
The portions are generous I recommend the Jalfrezi and the chicken shaslik. We over ordered due to large portions but they put our food in takeaway containers for us. I'm going to give the Nepalese dishes a try next time.
They have a good selection of beers including the usual Indian ones like Cobra. They also have Nepalese beers.
As a big fan of Indian and subcontinent food I can honestly say I will not be bothering doing the trips up to Brick Lane anymore. As great curry exists right on my doorstep.
If you have been here before and wasn't that impressed I recommend you try again under the new owners.

The best Indian takeaway in Croydon! Since lockdown I've visited quite a few and this is hands down the best. So much flavour and cooked to perfection. Thank you Gurka Spice!

Generally excellent food. Value and service second to none. Extra creamy sauces not quite to my personal taste.

Very good friendly customer service, and one of the best curry's I have ever had. It's improved under new ownership so if you been before and it's been poor it has changed alot.

I was living near the place for 2 weeks and went to this restaurant almost every day. Very tasty and healthy food! Nice balance between vegetables and meet.

We've been going to the Gurkha Spice for many years now and the food here is always great. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

The taste was nice, Rice portions are good but they had 5 pieces of chicken in my madras.

I pre-ordered dinner around 5pm for delivery when the restaurant opened at 18:15, they added 20 minutes to our delivery time so we should have received the meal at 18:35, at 18:50 there was so sign of our meal so we called Gurkha Spice, they told us they were too busy and they'd be 10 more minutes, 20 minutes later still no sign so I contacted Just Eat and they said they called them and said the same thing. When the food finally arrived, it was disgusting, not as described and cold, the driver even forgot our drink. Never. Ever. Again.

Delicious Excellent Food. What a lovely restaurant, tasty food, great service, reasonable priced. Currently they have a 20% discount on WED & SUN, thats very cheap. The best curry house apart from the rest, well worth visiting.

Best Curry House in the area. What lovely food. Anyone giving a negative review, needs his head tested....maybe he is the owner of another restaurant trying to put this restaurant down! The staff are very helpful, the owner Mr Wani, is always there to meet to your food needs. The price is reasonable with such large portions, this I have not seen at other restaurants. It does get quite busy on Saturdays, hence its worth booking in advance. It has very good deals on takaway, which are all in their website. Worth taking the time to visit, you shall not be disappointed.

Simply Amazing. The person who gave a low review was completely nuts...I went there one night and everything was simply perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and very spicy as i lke it. The staff were very helpful and the prices were very good. There is absolutely nothing to complain about when talking about this restaurant since it was simply amazing

Are you joking ?. I've read the reviews of this restaurant on this website and I'm starting to wonder if I went to the same place, or maybe they were written by the owners.

Ours was a 'family do' otherwise we would have turned straight back round and walked out again. Maybe I'm being picky, but I did not find the scraps of tomato, onion and rice which were stuck to the pages of the menus to be particularly confidence inspiring as pertains to hygiene, nor for that matter the food on the floor.

I was lucky enough to have somwhere to hang my coat right beside me, it was a three inch screw sticking out of the wall.

The food did taste nice, but took a very long time to arrive and I have never been to a restaurant before which had a total absence of cooking smells. Add to that it really isn't cheap. I defy anyone to leave there with a bill of less than £20 a head.

They do have a decent list of beers, six I think. Unfortunately they only actually stock one of these, the most expensive one of course. One of our drinks was served up in a glass with a label saying 'staff' sellotaped to it.
I love strong coffee, but I have never tasted such a thck, bitter brew as we were served. Totally undrinkable and when we asked for a jug of hot water to dilute it the waiter brought an electric kettle.

Good luck to you if you love this place, we will certainly NOT be back.
