Was bought a package as a birthday present which included an evening meal, overnight stay, breakfast and use of the spa.
We were given an upgrade to the Master suite which was incredible! It was spacious, comfortable, clean and tidy and full of character.
We arrived on Friday evening and managed to make the most of the beautiful spa facilities and on a hot August evening was able to cool down in the outdoor pool then sit on the sun loungers soaking up the sun.
We had some nachos as a snack which were a sign of the quality we could expect from the rest of our stay.
We had a pre dinner gin and tonic (recommend the Brilliant Gin) sitting in the spacious outside area of the hotel which was quiet and relaxing.
We were brought dinner menus to salivate upon and the seemingly endless wine list whilst enjoying our drinks before being taken into the restaurant. There was a lovely atmosphere which was relaxed and the fact mobile phones aren’t allowed in the restaurant really makes it a much more sociable place. The dinner was exceptional and the wine delicious.
In the morning we had prebooked a ho-leaf and rosemary muscle melt which was the best massage I have ever had. The masseuse was caring and happy, explaining the treatment prior to engaging.
All in all the staff were attentive, thoughtful and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be coming back and thank you for making it such a memorable stay!
Second time here for a mother/daughter spa overnighter. Blown away again by the helpful friendly staff. From reception to restaurant to spa - they can’t do enough to ensure you have a wonderful time. The facilities, food and treatments are top notch too. Can’t recommend enough.
A truely great place to escape and relax, the staff are very polite and attentive. Spa is well equipped, food is divine and rooms cosy. Will be going back again and again
Amazing setting, amazing service, they were so helpful and accomodating, usually when I say I'm dairy intolerant waiters go blank but not here! Completely unfazed, straight away said absolutely we have an allergy menu...and they have amazing variations on the five course tasting menu that actually made my dining companions jealous!!!
Definitely will become a favourite place of mine, thank you!!!
Had a lovely spa day here yesterday with my sister. Spa facilities were great, kept clean, and perfect temperature. I personally found the relaxation beds uncomfortable, but it was a lovely day so went on the beds outside. Had an amazing deep tissue massage with Jess, really good therapist. Excellent food for lunch! Would definitely recommend!
We attended a fabulous event at the weekend, organised by the lovely wedding planner, Anouska. The event ran very smoothly and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive.
The food was excellent, top quality and the wine selection was very good.
We stayed overnight and were more than happy with our spacious room with a very comfortable 4-poster bed. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
Would highly recommend for a function, wedding, overnight stay or spa-break.
Great place - my daughter had an amazing 18th Birthday at the Spa and I have eaten several times at the superb restaurant - definitely one to put on the list.
We visited for a mother daughter spa morning and lunch- we had a lovely time very relaxing and the massage was amazing. Lunch was beautiful, as expected small portions but still quality of food was fantastic! Would definitely recommend and would return.
Imagine for a moment. Dining at an Elizabethan manor house. Views looking out across lush green gardens and the rolling hills of Cuckfield Park – while eating award-winning cuisine and sipping on fine wines. The restaurant here at Ockenden Manor Hotel is a truly luscious experience and actually rather modern, housed in the conservatory of the hotel and is looked after by head chef Stephen Crane. Flavours are never spared and the kitchen sends out dish after dish of precision perfect cooking.
Superb food, delicious wines and a great range.
Truffle soup was fine, the ox cheek was so tender, but the salted peanut creme brûlée was out of this world. 3 little espresso cups of genius holding banana sorbet, peanut creme brûlée and a warm chocolate sauce all tied together with little pieces of banana and peanut hidden in their depths. Outstanding.
We had a wonderful lunch at Ockenden Manor on Saturday. The food was extremely well prepared, the service we received from Louisa and Elisha was absolutely spot on. We finished our meal with coffee on the terrace enjoying the beautiful surroundings and view of the South Downs. The lunch was to celebrate a special event and having read some reviews, I was a little anxious. Yes, the wine is expensive, but wine is expensive in a good restaurant. The lunch menu is limited, but with two vegetarians and two meat-eaters, there was something delicious for everyone. Wholeheartedly recommend and will be back again.
We had Sunday lunch here as a birthday treat for eight of us. The dining room reasonable and the service prompt and unobtrusive. The food was really good and everyone enjoyed what they chose. Downside is that the drinks are extremely expensive so best stay off the booze if you want to keep the price down.
Limited lunch menu, quite expensive . Had soup and had to pay extra for bread!!!
Food was ok
Staff attentive..
