My Daughter had her 7th birthday party here today and I can’t recommend it enough. The staff were great with the kids and the food is amazing. By far the best place we have been to for a kids birthday party. Well done Ale and Pate on your superb customer service, we will definitely be back.
Had lunch with the granchildren and great gran yesterday it was a lovely experience. Staff very friendly and lots of toys for the kids until their lunch was ready. A great choice on the menu and also a kids menu. Lovely views across the water from the big picture window. The ice cream is to die for. Definitely recommend it.

Fantastic place, highly recommend the all-day breakfast as well as the amazing ice cream and cakes plus a lovely wee play area for little ones and a great view!
There is flight of stairs but well worth the climb for a the food and ice cream. Ale & Pate is a wonderful addition to Dalgety Bay and what a view right over the river to Edinburgh. The cafe is located at as the locals call it the Old Shops above the Fish & Chip shop.
Nice place, lovely staff. They let you taste before you buy, make sure you're then buying a flavour you like! I had Belgian waffle with 2 scoops. The waffles are made fresh using a waffle press. So you have to wait, staff explained and very apologetic, nice they explained but they honestly didn't need to apologise, I knew and was happy to wait. When it came, a lovely hot waffle with Flake ice-cream and salted caramel, a couple of tasty wavers, toffee sauce and some cream. Very over indulgent, but excellent tasting.

Awesome little cafe in Dalgety bay with really friendly staff and really good food. The view from the cafe is amazing aswell. Definitely worth a visit!!!
Enjoy every visit, food, owners and staff and atmosphere are lovely. Ordered an icecream cake for Christmas and cheesecake for New Year and both were delicious. The different ice creams are to die for.!!
Great place to go for all kinds of food, but I’m addicted to the coffee ice cream. Always got some in my freezer. Very friendly and welcoming. They also go the extra mile for my weak coffee. Thank you. ��

First visit to Ale and Pate and will definitely be back. Had one breakfast, one fish and chips, and homemade ice cream. Everything was perfect, the fish and chips was classic chippy but restaurant standard, so so good. Best I've had in a very long time. Special mention to Chris the chef, cooked everything perfectly and also attended to customers. His patter was suspect but he can definitely cook.
First visit this morning and was most taken with the cakes and the types of fresh cannelloni. A good choice of Gelato with loads of flavours. We settled for a small breakfast and we’re well satisfied. We will be back

A guilty pleasure for my wife and I is to take a nice long walk every Saturday morning, completing the Moray Way loop all the way around Dalgety Bay and stopping for breakfast at Ale & Pate along the way. The café has some stunning views looking out over the Forth and across the water to Edinburgh. Friendly and accommodating staff, excellent service and delicious, freshly cooked meals to suit all tastes. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Very affordable and well worth the visit. The smoked salmon and freshly cooked free-range eggs are simply the best. And don't forget about the absolutely amazing choice in tantalizing home made ice cream!
If you're in Dalgety Bay and fancy an ice cream, then this place will not let you down. They've got some great flavours and reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly and the place is clean. We've been twice now and will deffo be back again soon

Good food and good coffee. Lovely place. Great view. Not accessible if in a wheelchair or walking difficulties, flight of stairs to access. NO LIFT. Shame great place
Best Viennese Whirl I've ever had! Kids enjoyed a homemade empire biscuit and toffee crisp ice cream. Lovely friendly staff and parking right out side.

Bubble gum ice cream is amazing, very friendly staff, no bad smell from the fish and chips shop downstairs, nice and simple decor, little kids area with games and some books, excellent view over the sea and Edinburgh. Highly recommended.

Love love love this gem of a cafe. Lots to choose from, fish and chips, paninis, baked potatoes, all day full breakfast, vegetarian breakfasts, vegan breakfasts to mention a few, working my way through the menu. Coffee is excellent, smooth and creamy. Homemade cakes, the coffee vienesse whirls are to die for. A great selection of different ice creams all amazingly tasty. Highly highly recommend a visit.
A treat and pleasure to find a cafe with great gluten free options for my 3year old grandson. Lots of choice and even a gf cone, his first ever! . with the most amazing ice cream. We were served by a lovely attentive lady who was so knowledgeable on gluten, she made us feel safe. I wish I knew her name. It made our day. We will be back, and thoroughly recommend this cafe to everyone.
Excellent service. Good quality food and drinks, reasonably priced. Good selection of pastries most inviting. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
Ale and Pate is a good cafe especially due to the sweet you can have with your coffee. It’s the variety of types of homemade sweet biscuit piped with sweet cream of vanilla, pistachio or chocolate is something I cannot find elsewhere.
Ideal cafe to take child.
One of the think I have found in Dalgety Bay Louis and Hugo Brown have stopped the proper cafe part.
When you look at the size of Dalgety Bay and Burntisland the variety shows.
Popped in after being at the beach. Delicious pancakes and bacon. Husband had the breakfast and announced it’s a 10/10. Childrens pizza was homemade dough and with chips, a drink and ice cream for £5 it was a bargain. Best vanilla ice cream I have ever had (I got my own 😀). Everyone serving lovely too. We will definitely be back. Don’t let looks fool you, not fancy seating or pictures, just great food and service.
