Cannot fault the food or the service. Although it's a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, it is absolutely worth it. We had the sharing platter with 2 extra sides between 3 of us, and we couldn't finish it! Really tasty. Staff were friendly and great with my little boy too. Atm

This is a lovely place which offers good value for money. The room I stayed in was a good size, very clean and had good facilities. It was nice to use a key rather than a magnetic key fob! However I recommend the hotel install a light outside the door so you can see the key
After a very long drive in the dark with mist and rain finally arriving at the Chequers Hotel, which was all lit up, was a great relief. Food was very nice, with very large portion sizes for a good price. Was quiet when we arrived, but we were there early for dinner. Service was good, waitress was attentive but not overly so. Would definitely visit again.
The drinks are very expensive. The service and food were great however we did have issues with the fact that we had booked a sit down meal for our Christmas do, we ended up getting a bavarian buffet with numerous other parties there. The music was far too loud, the band at the end were really good,
Changed hands recently but food fabulous. Steak was cooked perfectly, plenty of side dishes to choose from. Dessert beautiful. Service was excellent can't fault it. Well recommended.
Fantastic food, great service and superb atmosphere. Chains like Cau or smokeworks are nothing special comparing to this Steakhouse. Food is excellent, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are well presented and tidy and there is plenty of parking on site, ideal location for a walking holiday, not far from Lake Windermere and only 10 mins from Barrow town centre
This is a Great place to eat. The staff are attentive, good excellent. It is not a Victorian mansion but a school that was last used I the 1970s. It is well decorated and well presented. Well recommended.
