Only our second visit but my wife and I will definitely be back. Great service, friendly, pleasant staff, the food is top quality, shouldn't really have had the pudding but we did and it was spot on. A very nice venue with ample parking. Well worth the 5 stars I have given.

Our server, Charlie was absolutely lovely. Great service, great food. Will definitely come back again. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Very vintage. Food was really nice. We had fish cake and chicken burger and for the desert we had honey pot. Desert was the highlight of our meal. Pot was made out of chocolate and inside it t had some more chocolate served with ice cream. We been twice while we were in North Yorkshire. They had outside sitting area which was really nice in warm weather. Must go to place.

Pretty regular customer (birthdays, meals out, etc) and food is always delicious. Went for the Christmas Menu with family and it was next level. The portions were huge! The vegetables were cooked to perfection and full of flavour, the gravy was hot and right consistency, the turkey was juicy! I can't remember the last time I truly enjoyed turkey (I usually just know it's quite a dry meat and am OK with that as I only really eat it at Christmas). I was so full from lunch time, I didn't eat again that day. Friendly staff, timely service and beautiful layout, nicely decorated and maintained log fires.

Very warm welcome, seated and served drinks very quickly. Our Sunday lunch only took around 10 mins from ordering and the quality and portion sizes were fantastic!
Only feedback would be that we weren't asked if we wanted our bill when the rest of the visit was table service and we had to go to the bar after waiting a little while.

A group of us (8) visited The Tawny Owl tonight for a birthday celebration. We received a friendly greeting upon arrival and were shown to our table by the lovely Carly who was our server for the night. Our food order was quite varied with our group ordering different items from the menu, the food arrived in a timely manner and to be honest all of the plates were left empty, the food really was very good. A great night was had by all, the place is lovely, the staff are very attentive and the menu and food was excellent. Prices are very reasonable, a couple of drinks each along with a main and dessert worked out at around £35 a head. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Tawny Owl for your next night out.

The tawny owl is our go to if we go out for a meal so chose the pub to have a meal to celebrate my mums 80th birthday. I popped in on Sunday night and was greeted by Lottie who was professional and friendly and extremely helpful and again when I dropped some balloons off in the afternoon before our meal that night. When we arrived I saw Lottie again and was met with a lovely greeting. Our main server for the night was Carly who was equally lovely, friendly and professional. I’ve never had a bad experience here and highly recommend this pub. Thank you to the team (especially Carly and Lottie) for helping to make my Mums birthday extra special.

First time I had visited this pub and the service was great. We were served by Debbie who really went the extra mile especially addressing my dietary requirements. Debbie has a natural talent to not intrude but at the same time is very observant of customers and their needs.
Great experience - will be back.

We were served by Carly and Lottie. Carly is always so friendly and helpful, every time we go, treating us like special, valued customers. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she is so nice to my five and eleven year old granddaughters that it makes our visits very special. our food was good and the service was excellent.

I don't normally write reviews but felt I had such a nice time here today I had to say so! Service was excellent and the food...was on point we ordered a sharing platter for our mains and our deserts and every bit was delicious. We were actually quite embarrassed when our waiter came past us 5 minuets after placing our deserts down to see empty plates! - would definitely recommend the sharing platters if you're indecisive!

Had it not been my birthday surprise meal with my family I would have said something to the manager. The drinks took ages to arrive, the food took ages and when it did arrive 2 salmon dishes went back because they were raw in the centre and my sons vegetables only arrived after we asked for them after he had finished his meal. The two salmon arrived back when the other 4 family had nearly finished and they were not fresh cooked salmon but the original and microwaved and now like rubber. They came and took the plates away and brought the dessert menus , we had all chosen what we were going to have but 1/2 hour later we were still sat waiting for the waitress coming back. In the end we paid the bill , they took 1 salmon dish off and the vegetables off. They good easily have made £25-£30 extra from us last night on desserts and drinks. The other 4 said they could not fault the food they had , just a shame 2 didn’t. Overall the service was poor.

An amazing location for a meal with the family, the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent as well as the service, the waitress was happy and made our experience worth coming back.

Wasn’t happy with some of the food, we got a sticky platter for 2 and the chorizo was just swimming in grease, it was awful.
The service was good however, the price of what we had brought a tear to my eye, thought it was very expensive. Disappointing to see the least, I won’t be going back.

Just got back from having a lovely meal at the Tawny Owl . As ever the service was excellent and the food delicious. I can thoroughly recommend the beetroot tart tatin , despite my being every chefs nightmare when it comes to how I like my steak , it was cooked to perfection . My husband had the salmon tart and Halibut , which he really enjoyed . Dessert was just right . An excellent meal all round .

Came last week with the in laws which was great and again tonight with my mum and just sampled the new vegan menu. I am very impressed! Wonderful to finally have somewhere to go without the worry of nothing available on the menu. Lovely food and equally lovely staff, thank you

Been here a few times so we know the foods good. Last night was really dissapointing. We got a sharing platter £14.95 and on reflection it was probably worth £3 . Looked like it was thrown together by someone who couldn't be bothered. The thing that really has me puzzled is why I didn't take it back. Must of been of had a blow to the head!!

Had lovely food staff are tremendously friendly but a little disappointed to the fact I ordered Halibut & Clams ........ unfortunately I didn’t get any clams was a bit dry only a small amount of sauce. (Fish was beautiful)
We had to chase a member of staff for our desert. after waiting at least 15 minutes. We didn’t get asked if we’d like coffee/ tea. My first visit but not for the rest of company. I’m just a little bit let down after my daughter organising this for me. She recommended your restaurant to me. Hope you can explain?

Absolutely awful food. Disgusting service. The young female waitress was rude, snide and overall had a bad attitude. The manager did give us a discount on the food but no apology or discussion to find out what the problems were. Disapointed as we had a lovely meal a few months ago for my nannas 80th which is why we went back but we are now on the hunt for somewhere new to go for our family meals. Will not go back again and wouldnt recomend it to anyone.
