Called in for lunch meeting. Had food and drinks with meeting. Food was good quality, tasty and I thought it was good value for money, but the service was slow. This was apologised for and explained that they were really short of staff on that day.
However, staff were polite and helpful, and I will call in again when I'm passing.
Went with friends for a catch up. The food was delicious - I had the chicken livers and black pudding, it was so tender. For mains I had the duck which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with tables spaciously
apart. The staff were very attentive but not intrusive. On the whole a very good evening. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
I had a lovely afternoon tea with two girlfriends. The sandwiches and cakes were fresh and delicious, the service was excellent and the surroundings were smart, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a seemingly endless supply of tea and coffee and they even threw in soft drinks for free. At £19.99 for two it was exceptionally good value. A most pleasant experience all round. I would definitely recommend and I hope to visit again very soon.
Lovely food and good service. The menu was limited as it was just post Christmas but the food we had was freshly cooked and tasty. Generous portions. It was my birthday celebration. The only downside was that there was a major family disagreement at another table in the restaurant which went on some considerable time with shouting and swearing and family members storming out and back in and out again. It spoiled an otherwise lovely evening. Sadly the restaurant manager did not intervene at any point. The evening is therefore memorable but for the wrong reasons. It wouldn't stop us going back as the food and service was good and the prices are fairly reasonable. Just think hotel staff need to more cognizant of the impact guests behaviours can have on other diners.
We didn't stay overnight, but attended the New years eve party. Wow .... it was great. The food was lovely and the Elton John tribute act was great, what a lovely guy. The staff were attentive. Thank you to all involved in making the night a really really good night. Well done.
My friends and I had fabulous food. There is a good selection on the menu including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. The staff were brilliant, polite and helpful. The toilets were spotlessly clean and tidy. Had a great evening.
Great food fab little Elvis tribute show. Great value for money. Note did not stay in the hotel but looked nice enough. Fabulous staff. Would go again. Waiting for an email or invite for the next show. Nudge nudge marketing team
Came to stay here for my best mates wedding, had a great experience from the start, the staff are soo friendly and helpful.
Had our evening meal and it was out of this world!! Great value for money, the food is freshly made and the portion size is huge! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

A new style of business for this venue at lunch time, so very quiet, service was great, food cooked to order so nice, fresh and hot, home made minu Victoria cakes werr very yummy, surroundings very nice clean n comfy, probably needs to prompt the business a but more locally
Absolutely can't fault it but disappointing breakfast and very slow service. Later told only one chef in, if we had been told this provably wouldn't have minded wait altho considering how many guests seemed excessive. My full English was fine but 5 out of 6 of us not happy. Oh also brought out burnt toast.
Accommodated a large group of adults and children. Welcoming and spacious. Never felt rushed and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Food was fantastic. Wine very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.
We have just stayed at the Kyte for the valentines dinner for the second year and it was fantastic. They added afternoon tea onto the package this year and my only criticism was there was too much food but it was beautifully cooked and presented. Complements to the chef and all the staff for making our stay so wonderful
Had a throughly enjoyable two day stay at Kyte Hotel. Staff were friendly and not in your face and happy to help with other facilities.
Menu was very good, both breakfast and dinner. I have dietary requirements and the menu accommodated for them. Dishes were even altered to make more available to me.
I had chilli and rice which was very good.
The hotel room was clean and spacious if a little chilly when I arrived for my first night.
I will be staying here when I return to Pontefract in February and will extend my stay with my partner in tow.
Stayed here last night (Tuesday 10th March 2020). For the price charged I thought it was good value. The room was clean, checkin was smooth. Had breakfast (cereal, toast with Jam & Marmalade, tea and full english) all which were good, no complaints about the extra charge of £8.50 It was well worth it. All staff were very nice and accommodating. Will stay again when I'm on my next course in Pontefract.
