We visited in July 2016, and had to come back again in July 2017 while on holiday in Suffolk for the week because you offer something completely unique to anywhere else in the area. This place is absolutely wonderful - especially for foodies like us! Friendly, cheerful and attentive service is complimented by a wonderful fresh menu, with food that doesn't disappoint! Last year we came for lunch, this year we came for breakfast - both visits were just as memorable as the other, and all 3 of us wish that we could pick your cafe up and take you back to our home towns! You do a great job, please keep it up so we can visit you again! Thank you!

Great place - lovely owners and fab cafe. One of those places that thinks carefully about their food and where it comes from as they do about the beautiful setting both in and out. It's amazing that is on the A12 but you feel miles from a busy road inside. Truly a great place. I also like that you can have bottomless coffee! Staff are so lovely - they seem to really care about you. This is an independent business that should be championed - I am from Darsham and should go more as it is a great addition to the area.

My mum and I come have been coming here for a treat lunch every so often for over a year now. I recommend this place to anyone I know who's coming to suffolk as one of the top attractions. Incredibly delicious, experimental food, quality ingredients, beautiful decor, cute artsy shop, and an airy ambience - great service too. You also feel good when you eat their dishes - which are prettt healthy. It's really quite a unique place, and whilst it's not super cheap in itself, for the quality of food and dining experience you're getting, along with the top ingredients they're using, it's a bloomin good deal. And also, we're always so impressed at how the quality has never once gone down hill - you can almost taste the chef's love and enthusiasm for her edible miracles!

Whilst the cafe is very clean, light and airy this was the first place we've ever been to that we didn't order from! We were expecting to purchase a Sandwich or panini but there weren't any on the menu just very "posh" stuff that your humble bods like us don't eat but having said that it would and obviously does suit a lot of people! The staff are very friendly and you are given a jug of water as soon as you sit down ready to order but don't go there expecting anything basic!

I can't believe this has only got one google review. Some of the most sublime, unexpected eating experiences I have ever had. The veg is the main star, with the meat acting almost as a garnish. That said, they know exactly how to balance the flavours, so that even a die-hard meat eater would be satisfied. Hearty, yet subtle; fresh and vibrant; a real delight on the senses. You get the feeling that the owners love what they do and really believe in producing (they grow much of it at the nursery) and serving honest, delicious food. Next year, (when surely they must get a Michelin Star), I look forward to being a bore by saying that I have eaten there. Shame I don't live nearby, as I would be a regular visitor....am considering making the 3-hour journey again soon for lunch.

Review from Janet Lancaster - Excellent cafe - freshly prepared food, expertly executed. Small select menu, just as we like it, with a good variety of flavours and textures. Would thoroughly recommend.

What a fantastic recommendation (thanks Chris & Simon). We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon only to be met with courteous professionalism throughout. This is NOT your usual garden centre cafe. This is an experience for you to savour and enjoy. So, take your time and do not expect reformed ham and offer wrapped sandwiches. The front of house staff are courteous and knowledgeable and the experience starts with them. We can vouch for the delicious homemade cordials. Really refreshing. The food is something to savour. Having had breakfast at lunchtime. I can say the granola is divine. The Cilbir is a great combination of flavours and textures. You absolutely need a slice of pump st sourdough to mop up all the delicious butter. The eggs and bacon were a treat too. But, why just have breakfast when you can have dessert too. A wonderful cheesecake and equally sublime lemon posset. Scraping of the plate is required. The decor and ambience are as relaxing as they are attractive. From the funky floor through to the great use of light and views over the garden centre. The provenance of the food is visible and the food miles for a lot of products is zero as it comes from the gardens you can walk around. The icing on the cake is the summerhouse. A lovely space using a lot of reclaimed materials. It's no wonder why there guys have been listed in the top 100 UK restaurants. A wonderful experience which, we have already repeated and will be again soon.

I live in Manchester, but regularly visit family in Suffolk. Darsham nurseries and cafe is now on our list of favourite places for lunch. Last year I celebrated my birthday here with a lunch party for 10 people. They were so helpful in the planning and food and service on the day were excellent as usual. They have a good range of plants for sale and stock Niwaki Japanese hand tools which I highly recommend. The potager is lovely place to stroll around or to sit and relax. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy plants, gardening and interesting food freshly cooked.

I am not vegetarian, but if I were, this is the place I would go. The vegetables are grown on site to produce fresh, vibrant and imaginative dishes with a middle eastern / north african twist. Local meat and fish dishes also available, and lovely desserts. Try the mezze for a fantastic range of textures and flavours. We loved it!

We have been to the café a number of times including for the amazing lunch time menu, bought presents and for ourselves in the shop...love it .....bought plants...always helpful and supportive staff and wandered around the whole complex. The conversion of the old building with the veranda is inspirational....and the loos are easily as good as any...now that's a complement. Mike and Polly - Orford

I am so sad this wonderful place is closed. We only visited a couple of times when visiting Suffolk for the weekend, but it was still a favourite. Best of luck with your next venture, whatever it may be
