Have wanted to visit for some time but never made it over but was lucky enough that a visiting friend bought some and brought over for us to try. The pies did not disappoint, yes they are pricey but they do use quality ingredients. Pies in the UK are a lot cheaper but they can generally lack filling, these don’t, they are packed with filling. Perhaps selling in bulk should be rewarded with some discount? Either way they are excellent pies, thanks for making these available in NS, great job guys.

A great “on the go” quick bite to eat. They have a pie for just about any taste, great selection. The food is tasty and they have a very fast turn around if you are dropping in to grab lunch. Staff has always been pleasant to deal with in every trip I have made. I would recommend giving them a try!

Less than impressed! I used to bring the pies back to Ontario each time I was in NS. They used to be great and delicious and full for flavour but have seriously gone downhill in recent years! Its almost as if they are adding a preservative or by product or flavour enhancer to the crust and the filling. It tastes awful! I won’t be carrying them back to Ontario anymore!

Recently tried a pair of the handheld Humble Pies (Steak and Cheese, Taco) and I must say that they are very good. However, be prepared to have wicked indigestion afterwards and the filling resembles a puree. As a fast-food option they beat any franchise, although they don't substitute for a restaurant quality meal. I wish this company all the best as I believe that they are well on their way to creating a superb product.

Ah, the local legend that is Humble Pie. There’s a lot to be said for this NZ style pie shop on Ochterloney… but if you’re like me, your first pie wasn’t in Dartmouth at all - it was at the Wanderers’ grounds at a match. My first pie was in 2019. I tried one when we arrived at the stadium, and devoured it. Loved it so much that I bought another at half time. I had the mince and cheese, which is life changing and life affirming. Each time I have the humble mince and cheese I feel like a slightly better person. The second time we visited in 2019, I grabbed a bag of pies at the match - I knew I wanted some for the trip home. Fast forward to late 2020, and the pandemic was in full swing. We decided to move to Halifax, and it was tough while everything was closed. The amazing folks at Humble Pie delivered us 12 pies while we were quarantined after arriving - this sustenance was what powered us through those early dark days. We greatly missed their presence at Wanderers matches through 2021 - only remembering to pre-order once, but they’ve become a lunch time mainstay since they’re just a quick hop over the old bridge. I’ll always recommend a mince and cheese for a first timer, but have also had success with the steak and cheese, the double cheese steak and bacon and some of the chicken options. Yes, the price has gone up, but the value is still there. Typically a pie is still mouth scorchingly hot by the time I get it home - they travel super well, are ridiculously filling and even though they weigh a ton, are surprisingly guilt free. I was going to attach a photo to this review but I ate the pie already.

Visiting from meat pie loving Australia and found one of the best pies ever here in Halifax. The beef stroganoff and bacon was superb, highly recommended.

You have to try a Humble Pie! The whole pie was just perfect, the insides were packed full of flavour and you can’t beat that flaky pastry. They make it really easy to grab and go. Really impressed.

Excellent quality, great pies, just like in NZ, but $12 each is honestly too much. I can't justify spending that much again. A one time deal for me. 👍🇳🇿 *Update, thanks for the response Mike. Hopefully you can find a way to balance out the cost of ingredients, size and profit. They are definitely at the gourmet end of the scale and I can appreciate that, also tbh they probably are priced correctly of we were in nz, as you know prices in NZ can be brutal. But I fear North Americans will always balk at the price, especially when paying $50 for 4 pies. Still, I wish you all the best and I'm confident you can make it thrive! Kia Ora.
