J Sushi Japanese Restaurant

Edit: I went there with some colleagues again yesterday, and the the service was just as exceptional as the food!! The food was great as ever. But the servers seemed frazzled every time we had a question for them about the menu and the prices. I have been to J-sushi before — a couple of years ago — and everything was on point then. Just a little disappointed in the service.

Great place for contemporary sushi! Lots of different and colorful rolls to choose from. The deep fried gyoza were delicious, and a little spicy! I had the Temptation Roll, and it was a really nice size and the fish tasted very fresh. My boyfriend had the Lion King roll. Not my cup of tea, as it is a baked roll and completely warm, but he absolutely loved it! I would go back again.

My daughter and I happen to be in the plaza and I was like what is that smell, the aroma was so enticing. We followed it and this is where we landed. The idea was let's go check out menu for ANOTHER time. We walked in and next thing I know we were sitting at a table looking at a menu. Talk about being g spontaneous, lol. Anyway, so glad my sense of smell did not betray me. If you like sushi this is a must try. The presentation was pretty and I Like pretty food. There were a few things I readily wanted to try. To be honest most of what the people around us were ordering looked so so yummy I really wanted to ask what they had ordered and if I could get a sample. However, I was not that daring. I did keep it simple and had chicken w udon noodles. It was so good I ate my left overs cold, not that I had much left over but..... I don't normally do cold leftover anything so that says alot. If your wondering why 4 stars after this raving review it's because theres no 4.75 and though the chicken had good flavor it was a little on dry side. Service was good too. Definitely a repeat for me. If you've never been and feel adventurous.. Just go. Happy Eating, now Go get your grub on.

I recently had to go gluten free and I'm still in the learning process of what I can have and what I can't. Jay was so kind to me and spent time going over what I could eat there and made a special roll for me. I feel like he really went out of his way to help find something I would like. I have not had that experience at other restaurants. I loved this place before but after tonight's experience, I love it even more. The food is amazing and so is the wait staff.

I’d give it 2 1/2 stars. We ordered the Nigiri Deluxe and certain pieces tasted like they were rubbed on a salt lick. It wasn’t the rice. The salmon, tuna, shrimp, and the snapper all tasted REALLY salty. It’s almost like they were trying to mask the lacking freshness of the fish. The fried roll we had was good. That was about it.
