Magic Mushroom

Great pizza, strongly recommend the holy shiitake pizza. Honestly, this location didn't seem as heavily "themed" as some other mellow mushrooms I've been to, but I can't take any stars off because it was an absolutely solid time nevertheless - some of the best pizza I've had with genuinely creative but tasty combinations on the menu. They have a bar too so check out the cocktail menu. Server was super chill & polite. P.S. there was, just, like, a cat outside. I don't know if thats a local cat that just happened to be around or if it's the owners or something, but the cat had a collar and seemed friendly enough.

So. Hands down, best pizza we've had in Denton. The crust is crispy on the bottom, and yet soft. Toppings only add to the tasty. The cutting of the slices is the only... Off thing here. No where near precision. However, that doesn't make the pizza less tasty at all. My roommate even says the drinks are tasty.

My family and I love mellow mushroom pizzas since they have vegan options and not many pizza joints have that option, unfortunately every time we come to the Denton location they are super stingy with the toppings and it's always very disappointing since we always get veggies and 3+ dollars will get you way more than what we're given. Their food is delicious just beware that the toppings are minimal. A picture of our green olives and garlic pizza.

I never give bad reviews, but this on definitely surprised me. We waited an hour or more for one slice of pizza, a sandwich, and a mini pizza, there was maybe two other tables inside and just overall quality of food was not there, it was cold and i wouldn’t recommend it unless you have plenty of time to wait. “I wanna give you a zero but that’s no possible so i give a one”. - Tyra Banks

Cleanliness 4/5. Bathrooms and bar are very clean. Booths…could use some scrubbing, sweeping and loving. Food 5/5. Always fresh, hot, delicious, and made correctly! (Salad is cold and refreshing!) Drinks 4/5. As any bar, it depends on the bartender you get. Drinks are great, but not always made the same.. Water 5/5. Had to put this, you know sometimes you go to place and ask for a glass of water and it’s not the best? Well, their water is cold and refreshing and neutral. Service 3/5. Maybe they’re just understaffed the past few times we went, but being waited on sometimes took longer than we would’ve cared for. The servers themselves are WONDERFUL I just wish there were more. Atmosphere 3/5. Sometimes it’s calm music and chill in there, but today we went and they were blaring country and the kitchen was yelling for hands the majority of the time. I’d say go on a weekday for a more relaxing time. Location 4/5. I love that it’s not right on the square, more off the beaten path. It’s where the best stuff is. Only reason I wouldn’t give full five stars is because this area can get easily congested during events making it awkward to walk in. Overall 4/5 because I love the food which is really the star of the show. I’d recommend this place to ANYONE!
