Last minute thanksgiving dinner with family. Great authentic Chinese food. Their slt pepper pork was crispy. Their beef brisket hot pot was saucy. Even their chili oil is good enough to buy and take home. Normally, I come here for dim sum. Their dim sum has improved greatly. I highly recommend.

Wow! Delightful! We’ve been there now for dinner and lunch; definitely go for lunch if you want fresh carts going around. The chicken feet are nice and soft and delicious, but for dinner they’ve gotten a bit dry on the tops of them, maybe from sitting in a fridge or under a heat lamp. Service? Great! Attentive, fast, informative. Salt and pepper pork chop was cut into smaller pieces than were used to eating, but that was still excellent—crispy, savory, melts in your mouth! Chinese broccoli is a MUST. We adore their fried “football” pork glutinous balls. AMAZING. Shrimp and eggplant dim sum also excellent. I’d recommend maybe leaning away from fried taro cake, as it’s very salty. Go! Please go! So yummy.

The food tastes very authentic and the menu offer many variety dishes. The food is as good as if they were in Asia.

This is our preferred Chinese restaurant whenever we visit Denver. The service here is truly exceptional. Our server took the time to patiently explain the dim sum menu, which can be a bit confusing due to the less-than-ideal pictures and brief descriptions. Thanks to her guidance, we were able to place the perfect order. And as for the food, it's absolutely delicious. In my opinion, this restaurant ranks among the best Chinese dining establishments in town.

Decent place for dimsum and they serve all day if you don’t want to wait for too long to be seated or don’t want to get up early :) food was good and service was fairly fast.

Great experience! Hot fast fresh dim sum, open space great for large parties, helpful staff, they even have beer! Love that they start you off with tea and keep it coming, nice touch. Will definitely go back. Good for dairy free eaters. The menu includes pictures and descriptions but part of the fun is being surprised. Be ready for a full parking lot but don’t let it fool you bc the inside houses a lot of seats. It was about $28-30/person for 10 people eating all the things

The Empress has been a reliable Cantonese restaurant for a few decades now, even through ownership changes. The large banquet room creates a nice bustling atmosphere, especially on the weekends when dim sum is served on cart. To be honest the dim sum is just ok, but for many Denver Chinese, it’s nostalgic for big family meals. Def prefer going for dinner and ordering dishes like seafood chow mein, crispy pork, and walnut shrimp.

For a further refined review: 3.5/5. So as an explanation - I tried a variety of their chicken + rice meals (sesame and orange) as well as their dim sum menu. Chicken and rice meals are awesome. I compare this stuff to Panda as it is the gold standard 3/5 quality Americanized Chinese food. Empress’ options for orange chicken and sesame chicken are step above and I’ll definitely be coming back for these! The Dim sum is definitely not great in my opinion though (2.5/5). It is very cheap which is great, but overall not super flavorful and of high quality imo. I got 3 different plates and none of them I would consider good, just passable personally. It does at least come out very hot though. I don’t know the name of it, but I wish they carried that thick soy sauce-esque sauce that other dim sum restaurants have, it’s definitely my favorite. I would come here for the chicken and rice meals - super great and can’t wait to come back!
