We chose Pizza Express Derby for our daughters 6th birthday meal as it is a popular pizza chain with locations all over the world. I have heard that they are well-known for their high-quality ingredients and delicious pizzas. However, one thing that particularly stands out is their exceptional service when it comes to organizing kids' parties.
From the moment we stepped through the door they made an effort to ensure that our kids' party was well-organized and enjoyable for everyone involved. They provided a fun and interactive experience where the kids got to make their own pizzas and then enjoy eating them. This is a great way to keep kids engaged and entertained while also teaching them a valuable life skill.
The staff at Pizza Express were absolutely amazing, friendly and attentive, making sure that all the kids were having a great time. They are patient with the children and offer guidance when needed, making sure that everyone is involved in the pizza-making process.
Overall, I would say that Pizza Express is a great place to have a kids' party. Their focus on providing a fun and engaging experience for the kids, combined with their high-quality ingredients and excellent service, make it a standout choice.
An all round wonderful experience, staff were very attentive particularly a lovely waitress called Autumn, food was amazing as was the service not to fast or slow between courses. The restaurant was clean, tidy and had a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely eat here again a lot nicer than the other pizza express in the Derbion which feels less intimate and you definitely feel rushed. A particular thank you to Autumn for being so attentive and for providing in depth knowledge of the menu (despite my picky partner) we both enjoyed our meal.
Staff went out of their way to get us a table ASAP when already busy, but did have quite a wait for food. Pizzas were nice, crispy, just a bit sparse on toppings. A lot of families dining made for a chaotic atmosphere!

Shown to our seats by a very pleasant server. Although a couple of pizza toppings were not available the substitutes were more than satisfactory. The food overall was was very good. Very pleased with this restaurant.
We've always enjoyed Pizza Express, but our visit to this branch opposite the cathedral in Derby was lovely. The staff were excellent, making menu suggestions so we didn't spend money unnessarily. The food as always was tasty.
We went in on sep 18th 2023 (yesterday) for my sons 16th birthday. The host/waiter working at 3:30/4:00pm time did a fantastic job attending us so polite and a great positive attitude. Genuinely made our experience the best it possibly could be. The food was yummy and was prepared in a timely manner so compliments to the chef.
We appreciated the lovely dessert tray that was prepared as a free surprise for my sons birthday such a kind gesture and made my son feel very special.
We been here before always great service, lovely staff, great food and a beautiful venue.

I havnt been to Pizza express in a very long time, especially this one. It’s definitely had a makeover since my last visit. The interior is beautiful, with a perfect ambiance for any occasion. Situated in Derby, Iron Gate, surrounded by ample parking. We parked behind the Cathedral. (£2 all evening). A great location.
We hadn’t booked a table in advance due to circumstances but the staff managed to fit us in reasonably quick.
Customer service was ok, but there’s definitely room for improvement. We got seated pretty quick but it took a while to get served, even for drinks. They were reasonably busy but not fully booked.
Eventually our drinks and food order was taken, we applied for the FREE dough balls through the app. (This is a MUST). The dough balls are delicious!
The Menu had been revamped and there were many more options than I remembered. I went for one of the new options, ‘Paneer Tikka’ and it 💯% worth the wait. It was Devine! Absolutely Beautiful! Compliments to the chef on that one.
Drinks were great too.
We also used the ‘Buy 1 get one Free’ option on the app so got a very good deal and discount. My kinda language.
All in all, a good experience, the staff need to smile more and the Boss needs to be more attentive to customers as opposed to concentrating on his ‘drink’ he was constantly reaching for.

Very happy with my dinning experience here. Very promt with seeing us to a table, giving us a menu, delivering our drinks and food and also taking payment. Waitress friendly and polite. Food was nicely cooked and what we ordered. Very tasty. The hot chocolate was good too. I asked for a pizza wheel and got one with the pizza (all places serving pizza should have this option). Tables were clean. Would recommend a visit.🍕
We had a pizza party for kids. It was great, the atmosphere was amazing, place clean, very friendly staff working very hard to entertain children. Highly recommend.
A nice modern pizzeria set in Derbys historic quarter near the Cathedral. Pizzas are extremely tasty. Good service and choice of drinks. Prices are what you would expect. Great place to chill with friends or family, or both 😀. Enjoy. M
Gorgeous food and attentive service for a huge party of nine of us. Food came out well presented and piping hot, and our server was always ready to clear the table, bring drinks and bring out the next dish.
Between us, we covered most of the menu - calzones, leggera, pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, you name it - we had it! And they were all absolutely faultless, the same with the starters and desserts.
Having only ever eaten in the main city centre Pizza Express, I feel as though I have missed out!
Consistently good food and service. Acoustics can be a little troublesome if it's very busy - or is that just an age thing?!
I forgot how $$$ this chain was !
Food was lovely, but it gets expensive and then you get asked if you want to add service charge to the bill !
Mobile app does not work for ordering food so the claim of free dough balls was a fail....
Great food, friendly staff and a brilliant outlook if you manage to get the window seat looking out onto the cathedral.
The food was excellent and a bargain thanks to Meerkat meals! We hope to return again in future 😀👍
The food was amazing, Had to wait along time for food, when food arrived didn't put In front of us, very rude waitress and had to get to get our black pepper out selfs because not offered and napkins.
