What a lovely place. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and service. We would definitely recommend.

Had 2 full breakfasts. One was gluten free. Both were very good. The only slight change I would do is the tomato 🍅 was not cooked at all . But that's probably just me I like my tomato to be cooked. Everything else was perfect. And doing gluten free breakfast was great for wife. It was a busy Saturday morning when we went . Didn't have to wait long for the coffee to come and about 5 mins for the food. The two ladies serving were excellent looking after us . The atmosphere was fab. Music in the background of local language. For my shame I don't understand the words but made for pleasant place to be. You know your in the right place when it's full of locals. Would I go again . That's a yes.

Starter was excellent and the mains were good. Service was not very tentative and we had to call the waiter for requests. There was no check on how our food was but all in all it was ok.

Amazing, impeccable service. Food was cooked to perfection and prices where reasonable too. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the beautiful town of Dolgellau!

Lovely restaurant in a very interesting historical building. The staff were friendly and service was good. We are a family of five with teenagers and ordered starters and main meals but were too full for dessert! The scotch eggs were very good for starter. We all ordered a different main from the menu and all were delicious. We had the lamb shank, a rib eye steak, lamb burger, beef burger and hake. I really enjoyed the risotto that came with the hake. My son said the chips were the best he has ever had! We would not hesitate to return.

This is a lovely place to either enjoy a nice coffee on the ground floor, or a relaxed meal on the first floor. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was of good quality and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed it. We had breakfast here twice during our week long stay in Dolgellau.

Had breakfast here and it was great! The breakfast bap is amazing value for money and I think it would be good as a takeaway if you're going for any outdoors activities. Full Welsh breakfast was really good as well. Carrot and coriander soup was super nice. Their cappucino was very smooth. The seating upstairs was really comfortable and spacious and their toilet is super clean 👍

Food was delicious!! Service could be improved. Worth to go for Lamb Shank and Chicken wrapped in bacon!

A beautiful cafe and the food was very reasonably priced but it was not the best breakfast. The bacon was hard and chewy and the sausage was not very tasty. The service was decent and they had vegan and gluten free options.

Family celebration Really characterful building. Lovely interested staff busy but happy to help. A nice menu with a good choice. Everyone seemed happy with their food.mine was Duck with superb chips, changed from mash plus beautifully cooked vegetables. Duck slightly over cooked for my personal choice but a minor issue.

Not my usual style of dining... but I was highly impressed. We came here before a ride... and it was a fantastic idea. We had the Welsh breakfast which was fantastic and very fair priced. The bacon is not overly salty and very thick. Food was cooked perfectly. Mushrooms were deliciously cooked in butter. Everything was well seasoned and the quality of all items was truly great. I Noticed there was a very large wine collection and a ver de vin... which was a great spot. Another words, your wine will be GOOD. I didn't get to see a wine list but I was very impressed by this for such a little restaurant. There is some great history and a beautiful flagstone floor. I'd have loved to have felt more comfortable on the table as it was slightly uncomfortable. But this is me being picky... The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Amazing restaurant! Staff kind and welcoming. Average prices but astonishing cuisine. Worth of a visit. I’m not a fun of lamb but I’m happy to have done an exception here. Highly recommended

Gorgeous Welsh breakfast, all locally sourced and fresh. Lovely coffee, great service and the place has its own quirky history. Love it! Would highly recommend for a pit stop.

Managed to get a table outside and it was lovely. One of the best Lamb Shanks I've ever had. Followed by Creme Brulee. Staff were extremely friendly but exceedingly busy

We had beef lasagnas, both delicious and reasonable portion/price. Decent service and seating. We were asked to pay upfront, which in all honesty we weren’t sure if that was just us being labelled, or if that was their process. If our tab was left open we might have been encouraged to order cake/coffees after our meal. Otherwise was much needed, enjoyable post-walk grub.

Really tasty lunch. Sat upstairs on comfy seats. The building is historic and well restored. Staff are always helpful and friendly going above and beyond.

Yes 5 stars, I booked our table we arrived at 6.30, the staff and the owner were very pleasant, friendly, the waitress came to take our order but I couldn't hear her properly so I mentioned that the music was a bit loud and she offered to turn it down perfect thank you, there is a very good selection of wines (see picture) the setting was fantastic the building dates back to 1606, and the history of the place is carved into the wooden freeze ( see picture) the picture of the door is the original prison door note the nails, the food is realistically priced and far better than the business opposite which we tried and reviewed earlier this week, THE FOOD arrived do not be put off by the food picture, it was really nice and a cheese board for dessert, trust me when I say it was great food sourced locally, my son had the most delicious sausages and potato wedges not the frozen rubbish that other restaurants turn out this is fresh food, my son demolished his food 3 large sausages, nice garden peas, and the big potato wedges, and the vegan ice cream, it's difficult to put into words what a lovely meal, in great surroundings it was but try this place before any other then you will have a bench mark for every other place that you eat at and I guarantee that you will not be dissapointed with your first choice.

Lovely building with lots of history. Nice and warm on a miserable wet Saturday morning. Order a full and a small breakfast which come with either tea or coffee. I wanted a latte, which cost over £3, and no deduction in cost taking the coffee included in the breakfast into account. The menu advises that the food may take a while to arrive as it's all cooked to order. Food arrived after 10 minutes. Very poor. Sausages had obviously been cooked previously, and looked as though they had been cremated. Bacon was thick slices, but unpleasant white goo which always denotes cheap crap. Mushrooms so dehydrated they were getting on for porcini. Hash browns ok, but no texture. Egg was fine as were the beans and the toast, but was never going to offset the disappointment of the key ingredients. Had better in Weatherspoons at half the price.

Lovely cosy cafe ! Took a friends dad there for lunch where he had the pensioners special ! Lovely staff , hot decent food at decent prices ! Amazing room upstairs if crowded below .

Don’t try the risotto it was am just awful. Having said that when they bought us an alternative (salmon minus the risotto) and lovely fresh veg it was delicious. We sat upstairs as downstairs was full, the cooking smells were a bit off putting (burning fat) but very interesting surroundings. Would go again, we may have just been unlucky.

The only place we ever eat when we’re in Dolgellau. The food is delicious! I had the Welsh taste it jacket potato this time and wasn’t disappointed! My boys had beans on toast and cheese sandwich. Love that they use real butter! My other half had a cheese omelette. It was so light! We took reggie the sausage dog in with us. He loves it here too. See you again soon

Had both an evening meal in the restaurant and a breakfast in the cafe. Both were superb and excellent value for money. Very friendly and attentive staff.

1st time to have a meal here and I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the meals we had, we will defiantly be coming back when we are in Dolgellau next, diolch am you croeso

Great little cafe. Good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff, quick service. Great for a breakfast stop.

Very good meal, fitted us in although we hadn't booked and they were very busy. I had chicken roulade which was moist and tasty with generous veg, my partner had oven baked cod in a lemon sauce with veg, again a very generous helping. Service took a while due to the fact they were full and there was a party upstairs but the atmosphere was good and the staff friendly.

Had a brilliant meal. The food was cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. We went in the evening and even though it was busy we were served quickly.

Very nice restaurant with a varied menu. Food was good if a little basic. Would definitely eat there again.
