You can tell this is award winning, amazing breakfast and service. You could spend hours in here looking at all the wall art and posters. Staff very welcoming and food is superb! Recommend the potato stack 👍

Discovered here by accident and we were glad we did. I had a breakfast bap . The sausage, bacon and fried egg were delicious. My wife had toast and strawberry jam with a cappuccino. I had tea which was also lovely. The place is quirkily decorated with posters and artifacts from the past. The tables are well spaced out and the service is prompt. You give your order and pay for it at the table so you don't have to wait around to get the bill. They have a selection of books of local interest to peruse while you are there which would be useful for tourists. Good crowd in for a Monday morning so a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Brilliant selection of coffee! The snack food we had was very nice. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. The decor is really interesting - lots of tourist posters and memorabilia from the local area and further afield. Well worth at least one visit!

First visit and it won't be our last now we've found this café. The coffee was sublime, lots of choices and strengths and we enjoyed the food too! The walls are covered in local posters from yester year enticing folks to visit! 👍👏 There is a Fabulous collection of local bank notes to keep you interested. It's a café and the coffee is King!!! Don't miss this gem if you are a coffeista 😍

A great find for a cup of tea and gluten free ( and tasty) cake. Loads of historic travel posters etc on the walls which are atmospheric and interesting, and located close to the seafront.

The Stormy Cup is a must-see. The entire cafe is like a unique museum with endless memorabilia from Donaghadee's history. From old maps, tickets, jerseys to original postcards from long ago ... The offer of different coffees is unique in the area, and in addition you will find delicious breakfast variations, waffles, pancakes, snacks and typical treats. Definitely a place to stay. Be sure to stop by!

Went with my parents for lunch. Had the Double Chicken Burger with salad and coleslaw. Really delicious and good value for 9.99. My parents both had Ulster Frys, which they enjoyed as they are regulars here. Nice café by the seafront with a lot of interesting old artwork and newspaper clippings about the old train and shipping systems in NI on the walls.

It’s been a couple months since I last visited The Stormy Cup, but I wanted to come back and write this review on behalf of my family. Interesting art, delicious food, great coffee, cozy furnishings, beautiful views — these are all noted in the other reviews here. All very true things about The Stormy Cup. I live in California, however, where we are lucky that one throw a rock in any direction and hit a cafe with many of the aforementioned qualities. What made a lasting impression on us about this place is that it had all of these qualities and more. We were planning to be in Northern Ireland for about a week for vacation. An unexpected loss of a family member with us during that trip prolonged that visit into a month of unimaginable grief. As more friends and family flew in from around the world (U.S., France, Italy) to join us, The Stormy Cup was our daily morning headquarters. We could always reliably find at least one person in our group sitting there. Some of us called it La Stormy Tasse. Sometimes we ate in, sometimes we had a quick takeaway. Our breakfasts always were delicious and gave us fortitude to face the rest of each day. The staff was incredible to us. I can’t recall a single time they mixed up or delayed our order, even when we descended upon the restaurant as a large group. They served with kindness, patience, and warmth. The kids in our group adored their breakfasts there. The littlest one came to be affectionately nicknamed “Mr. Eggs Benedict”. The staff knew our regular orders because the big group of us came so often. After everyone else had gone home following several long weeks of hospital visits and funeral preparation and grieving, my partner and I went again for breakfast — just the two of us. The sudden quiet overwhelmed me; but I didn’t think anyone saw me crying into a napkin at the table. A staff member brought over a dessert on the house and simply said, “It looked like you were having a hard day.” The Stormy Cup is no ordinary cafe. It’s a place that will welcome your family and treat you as if you were their family too. Places like this are so rare. The people of Donaghadee are lucky to have it. Big kisses to all on the staff at this amazing cafe. Thanks for supporting us through a stormy time. This place will be our family’s first stop whenever we can visit again. We’ll try to give you a heads up next time so you can stock up on your eggs!

I don't know what it is but we are always invisible here! Everyone else seems to get served first and we have to wave 👋 to get our order taken. That said, we love the food and the coffee types plus the mocha is superb 👌 Tables can be hard to get as it seems to be very busy now. Bring your own cup to save money on the takeaway service
