Been here a few times. Always good. Usually call around 2 o clock and have to hang around a while waiting for 2 seats to become available as there are no reservations allowed. Decided to make a 10 mile trip today for lunch. Set off to make it in time before 12 to get a seat. Arrived in good time only to find just about every seat reserved. Another couple were annoyed as. Looks like different rules for different people. Obviously not good enough. Your loss.

Visited here once based on other reviews , been three times since , incredible food , the nicest , tenderest calamari ever tasted , mackerel to die for , and dont get me started on the seafood stew ! On one occasion we were lucky enough to get the pork belly special , excellent , so it isnt just seafood they excel at. Weve had 6-7 different dishes at Clam and Cork and everyone has been absolutely beautiful , fresh , well cooked , beautifully presented , and the service and staff are excellent Keep up the good work everybody , well be back very soon

Superb meal in the centre of Doncaster fish market. Can't recommend this fish restaurant highly enough. Staff very friendly. Food prepared in front of you. Mouth watering fish dishes. Chill wind blowing through the market in early January but the staff provided blankets to keep us warm. Highly recommended.

To demonstrate how much I love this restaurant, I entertained friends there five weekends on the trot and had a completely consistent experience each time, meeting with ultra rave reviews. One friend said she would move to Doncaster to eat at the Clam and Cork and that her dish of crispy skinned cod with bubble and steak was hands down the best fish dish she had ever eaten! My London friends loved the fish market experience and seeing the produce and cooking right in front of us. On very cold days, the tent is the place to go. There are blankets and heaters but if very cold, be sure to wrap up. I’m gluten free but there were many options available for me. The oysters are spectacular. Simply spectacular. A simple dish of garlic butter prawns was so delicious, a friend ordered two portions! The fish curry is utterly delicious. They have a specials board that usually offers a couple of really inventive dishes. The wines are well chosen and moderately priced. The open kitchen is surrounded by a huge stainless steel counter and comfortable stools. The atmosphere is lively, with diners sharingp conversations about the food, suggestions from the menu and general enquiries about where you’re from - so many people travel long distances to eat here. The service is pleasant and casual. Dishes come out when they come out. There is no starter/main course separation. Roll with it. The best part of this wonderful restaurant is its quirky fish market location with fine dining produce. The worst part is that it isn’t open for dinner!

We had a delicious family lunch here noshing in the most tender calamari we have ever had, fish and chips, the curry a fish burger and a cheeky glass of the Picpoul. Delicious! After travelling up from London for Christmas we travelled further to try this highly regarded spot and it was so worth it. We will be back.

What a gem of a place this is. Not cheap but not stupid prices Friendly staff. Watch your food prepared with care and attention and served with obvious pleasure . Why can’t all service be like this? Keep it up.

We visited the Clam & Cork on a very cold and wet Wednesday afternoon, six of us arriving at midday. We managed to get seated at one of the counters surrounding the heart of the stall , the tiny open kitchen. There are heaters around facing the customers but on a freezing cold day you really need to wrap up very well . That said , the food that this kitchen produces is second to none, between us we tried all the starters and couldn’t fault any dish, in fact we enjoyed the prawns and fish goujons so much we had extra portions . The main courses were just as enjoyable the halibut and clam special tasting delightful as was the beautiful aromatic fish curry . We washed all this down with some artisan beers and white wine , planning another trip in December when we will have more suitable attire. The cold was the only reason I didn’t give five stars ( the food is worth 5 ) but the stall already has this in hand as they are extending and upgrading the stall in January . We will be back again then to hopefully give them five . 😋

Stunning! We heard about this through our son who read about it in The Times ( I think!) And have been meaning to visit for months! Actually cannot wait to return and will make a habit of it. Faultless. Fantastic fish and seafood, exquisitely cooked with love and attention. To sit on the bar stools and watch them prepare each dish, carefully with consideration, was like watching Masterchef, but so calmly, no stress or fuss. Just passion. We Paired our meal with a delicious bottle of chilled Rose, and chose Calamari, mussels Thai style, garlic King Prawns and South Indian Fish curry. We’re quite keen to try the other dishes, so going back in a couple of weeks! Only hope we can get in. It’s quite small, and they don’t take bookings... I’d be happy to wait though...sitting in a fish market in the middle of Doncaster, tasting top quality restaurant food, was a true foodies heaven!😋😋😋 Keep up the good work 😊

Oysters to start followed by seared scallops and grilled lobster with fillet steak, all washed down with a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. Ask for less than £100 for two. The provision of blankets against the cold November day was a nice touch to complement the excellent food, go there, now!

I’ve been coming to Doncaster fish market for over fifty years. The idea of basically upmarket street food amongst the fish stalls is utter genius. We called in early ( if you don’t you’ll struggle to get a seat) and enjoyed a first class lunch. Everything was spot on and so fresh, and the wines that they have to compliment the food were just perfect.

Me and the wife popped in to Clam & Cork whilst on a food and beer tour around Doncaster centre last month and thought it was incredible. Whether you change from the standard menu or their ever changing specials board you will not be disappointed. The food is all freshly prepared in front of you and arrives in efficient time by their wonderful staff. You can tell that everyone is proud of what they’re producing at this restaurant. The chefs and waiters are all attentive, asking if everything is okay or if youd like anything else. We ordered three dishes to share between us, all of which were outstanding and very reasonably priced for such high quality food. We were amazed when we got the bill and it was only around £30. We ordered a Thai style mussels broth with naan bread, an Indian prawn and mango salad (both on the specials board) and a portion of calamari, all of which were washed down with a couple of chilled beers. Lovely!
