Madge brought me to see the market place. There is a large indoor market with lots of additional stalls spread about outside. One of the best UK markets we have been to. As you would hope there are plenty of pubs and bars around the market. ( Traditional to get drunk on market days!) Spotted this al

Nice town centre pub that serves a range of excellent real ales.
The sharing platter was simple but good. 5 interesting cask ales on tap, and the wheat beer we had was in good order.
Cannot fault the amazing experience. Was down on a work course for the week and couldn't find a more relaxed and great place to have a drink. Perhaps the most beautiful and interestingly designed small real ale pub I've been in, and there have been many! Late Sunday afternoon it was very quiet, just a few others plus me. Soon got into conversation though and found two persons very happy to extol the virtues of drinking in the M.P. Stuart
