Przemiła obsługa pyszne jedzonko, a właściciel urzeka uprzejmością za każdym razem. Bardzo dziękujemy za wspaniałe popołudnie przygotowane dokladnie tak jak to sobie wymarzylam. Gorąco polecam to wspaniale i magiczne miejsce. I would like to highly recommend this place to all the food lovers out there! Absolutely amazing atmosphere and great service is what you can expect from this restaurant on every single visit. Food is really tasty and well served. We will be coming back!

The food was lovely and the staff attentive without being overbearing. I had the Barnsley chop and my friend had the beef Goulash followed by their chocolate pomegranate cake. All the food was freshly cooked to prefer so give yourself plenty of time 😁

A very cosy and inviting restaurant with friendly staff and great food! Perfect before a theatre visit, special occasion, or first date. I recommend the Barnsley chop and vegetables on the side. 10% off the bill if visiting the theatre that night, just show your tickets.

Came to The City restaurant for a friend's birthday with four other people. Never visited before despite living nearby. Upon getting sat down, I completely forgot I was in Doncaster, a combination of smooth Jazz and the brickwork decor transported me to a trendy European city in the 1920s - 1930s. Before we had even been given the starter, we were given a basket of sourdough bread, with brie, butter and dripping, we were told the dripping was homemade, and it was incredible! I could have just eaten bread and dripping all night and been perfectly happy! For starter I had the French Agen prunes wrapped in Black Forest Ham with a sherry sauce. I was really unsure how this would taste, but I was absolutely blown away, the prunes had a sort of wine taste that paired perfectly with the sweet ham. We were given extra bread during the starters and I used this to mop up the sweet, decadent sherry sauce. For main, I had the Polish Hunters Stew (aka Bigos). This is my favourite Polish dish, reminding me of childhood. The City's version did not disappoint. It was rich, and every piece of meat in it melted in my mouth like butter. The portion size was good, I had it with a side of fried baby potatoes which I couldn't finish despite being them being so buttery and crispy on the outside. We weren't rushed out, despite it being about 9:50 when we had finished our food. The service was incredible, the waiter was very attentive & polite, our food came quickly and steaming hot. Altogether my order came to £35.50, that included two pints of Peroni. There was an additional service charge that we were happy to pay, adding an extra £3.45 per person on top, totalling the amount spent to £38.95. It isn't the cheapest place to eat, but it was worth every penny. If you're on a budget, they have several offers on, including 20% off if you have a cinema or theatre ticket from the same day, definitely a great date night idea! On departure, we were given a complimentary shot each of their Warsaw Apple Pie cocktail, which tasted amazing! Definitely ordering a cocktail next time I go! Please note that the portion sizes for the pasta and soup were massive, my friends asked for a tupperware to take this home to enjoy it another day. Overall, I'd give The City a 10/10. There wasn't a bad thing to say about my experience. It could be cheaper HOWEVER you can tell they're using authentic produce that's cooked with love. It was an impeccable dining experience. I will definitely be visiting again.
