Outback Steakhouse

My family and I ordered takeout from Outback in Dover on Friday, February 5th. I placed our takeout order online a little after 4:00pm, for a 6:40pm pickup. We arrived at the takeout area at 6:50pm and waited for someone to come to our car to greet us. About 8-10 minutes later, an employee greeted us (they were pretty busy, so we understood and were patient). They said that our order "would be done soon." 10 more minutes go by and we still don't have our food (at this point, our food is 30 minutes late) so my husband goes up to the takeout door and speaks with them. The excuse they gave was that "they were busy" and "just because we ordered ahead didn't mean our food would be ready any sooner because they don't start cooking it until around our pickup time." They were pretty rude about it and uncaring. I understand being busy can set you back a little, but when you have someone that orders that far ahead, you should be plenty prepared to have their food ready in time. A half hour after the set pickup time is just ridiculous. They also forgot our child's fruit so we had to go back up to the door and ask them for it. Some of the takeout boxes had melted on the tops, so I know they sat in the window for a good bit of time, and most of our food was room temperature, not hot. What is the point of ordering ahead if the food will still not be ready for a good while after you get there, or they will just not pay attention enough to bring it out in time when it has been ready? To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Not only with the wait time, but also with the way that the staff handled us - disrespectful.

Had my first disappointment today with my order. We always order on line and pick up. Normally very good food and service. Tonight I tried the prime rib steak. Sadly the 16 oz steak was 5 oz of fat and uneatable meat. I also ordered the blue cheese salad and they gave me the house . . That is also what they charged me for. I was really hungry for prime rib but lost my appetite when I saw the presentation of fat with meat in the middle that I paid $26.00 for, plus tip. 🤨 Threw most of it away. **Update - No one from restaurant tried to contact me or apologize 😕 Kevin P

Usually outback is good, but when it comes to delivery, I've been very disappointed. I have ordered multiple times for a rare steak. The first time it happened I got medium well and my fiance got medium rare. Okay no big deal we just switched. However, today I recieved a well done steak. I ordered rare. It feels as though they are throwing any steak into a to go order that follows the size but pay no attention to how it was asked to be cooked. As a steak house in my opinion this is unacceptable and I hope they are able to start adding the correct steaks to the correct to go orders.

My wife and I had a quick date here on 8/25. Our waitress was Muffin. She was very attentive and polite. I had steak, fried shrimp, broccoli and a side of Mac and Cheese. We also had a sampler with fries, bloomin onions, and cheese bites. It was all great. Too much for me to finish even on an empty stomach. The broccoli was the best I’ve ever eaten. The only thing I didn’t really like is that the seating was too close to other tables. If you aren’t in a booth it’s not exactly a quaint dining experience.

We ordered our steak medium well, it was not at all cooked properly. I didn't want to risk sending it back so we ate it anyhow. The bathrooms were nearly out of toilet paper and the little that was in there was out of the dispenser allowing for everyone to touch the entire roll. The server was nice enough and frequently refilled our drinks. The mac and cheese was super over cooked and the noodles were like mush. Just not an enjoyable meal.

Everything was cold. The fries containet had hair on it, like someone was scratching their head. The Mac and cheese was half filled for the family platter. The fried ribs were soggy with no crisp. The Mac and cheese sudessides The manager said that he would send a gift card. I declined because we won't be returning. This place has been declining since our was first opened. I am currently getting dressed to get some of my money back.
