Friendly's

Stopped in for lunch with friends. I had the cheeseburger and fries. Burger was hot, juicy, nicely cooked and yummy. Roll fresh, soft and flavorful. Rest of party had clamboats. All declared clams were well prepared and tasty but portions were rather small. Service was surprisingly prompt (historically service at Friendlys leaves much to be desired) and our server delightfully pleasant. All in all a very satisfying experience.

Arrived with 3 other people at 9:00p.m. to order ice cream at the outside window. The employee standing at the window watched and glanced over at us a few times. We stood there for atleast 5 minutes reading the menu on the wall to figure out what kind of ice cream we wanted. After ringing the bell to order, another employee came to the window and told us they were closed. Even though there were clearly people inside the restaurant and their website and doors state they close at 10:00. Rather then opening the window as we stood there reading the menu, and telling us they were "closed" a hour early apparently, she just stood their twiddling her thumbs while we read their menu. Probably counting down the clock to leave for the night, and had no time to make any extra work for themselves. Now I remember why I haven't been to this place in years.
