La Tonalteca

The restaurant was packed as of Cinco De Mayo, which we already knew. The service was good as per Zuleka who was our waitress. The food was very good as for it being crowded and short staff. The restaurant has alot of historic features of Mexico. It was nice to see that. I probably come back when it's not busy just to get a better experience.

Do you like Mexican food, stay home and make it yourself! I had chicken enchiladas and the meat was crunchy. Any guess as to how long chicken has to sit on a hot plate in order to ring out enough of the juices to make it that way?! I didn't want to think about it.... My wife's pork tacos were about the same. My other family members didn't think so much about their meals either. Never go back!

We walked into an argument and they continued arguing then finally decided to seat us. The service was terrible the guy that seemed to be in charge was continuously arguing with staff while we were waiting for food. When we requested special items he made it seem as if it was an issue because we wanted to make the order special by just adding a few things. The bar tenders were excellent, Drinks were nice and strong. next visit hopefully things will be better.

The food is delicious but..... do not order online. I ended up paying twice for my order. The restaurant manager was supposed to contact us to refund money and never did. Additional phone calls produced no results. Corporate office did not answer my emails Terrible customer service. Out 70.00. Will never eat there again .

Extremely dissatisfied. Wasn’t given utensils or napkins. Server didn’t check on us. I had to go get utensils myself after attempting to flag down the server. Went through half our meal with no drink. Then part of our order didn’t come so we asked to have it taken off the bill and the server couldn’t understand us and instead thought we wanted the stuff that didn’t come out and brought it out even tho we were finished with our food and ready to go. There is one of these restaurants in Dover and I enjoy going there but I will NEVER come to the one in Rehoboth again. The food was decent but the serves was not.

Ate dinner here last night. Should have went to La Hacienda and waited(been to La Hacienda a few times even 30 min before closing and never disappointed). Family of 4, we all got diffrent things. Nothing was good, I ordered tacos with rice as my side. They served me maybe 1/4 cup of rice. I ordered salsa and cheese dip. $3.99 for the cheese dip to be cold and clumpy. And there was less than 1/2 of both cheese and salsa dip. They were not busy. My tacos were soggy, the chips were stale and hurt our teeth to even eat.

Something changed... The quality of meat, the prices, and loss of certain staff members is detrimental... I used to visit this place weekly... now if I go, it’s on a accident, and I just turn around and leave. I understand that “COVID” has been hard on businesses, but that doesn’t excuse changing your core seasonings (in regards to taco meat, etc) just to save some $$. Id be willing to pay slightly more if it was for the same product id enjoyed in the past but, no... They not only increased the prices, they changed their fu<Ken recipe. If I could go back in time id recommend this place. Cheers 🍻 :)
