Castaways Restaurant & Lounge

I'm probably being a bit generous with 3 stars..... my bf gives it a 2. We went here on a Saturday night; it has 4.2 stars when I picked it out, thought it would be nice to sit outside near the water. The outside area is nice and there's plenty if seating. Took a while for the waitress to come by with menus. It took a very long time for our chowders to come out, although they were pretty good, albeit nothing special. Luckily our dinners came out soon after. They were okay. Bf is pretty sure his haddock sandwich was frozen, not fresh, given it was square. I got a shrimp wrap, that was okay as well. We got fries with our sandwiches and the portion was pretty small. We also had to ask for ketchup and tartar sauce, which took longer than it should of. The waitress was pleasant but didn't check in often and we had to ask for drink refills. Overall, don't recommend and we won't be coming back.

Nice spot on the water. We came for a late lunch, so there were only 2-3 couples on the mice sunny deck. We had steak and cheese and the jerk chicken sandwich, both were generous and excellent. My wife’s margarita was watery but we didn’t mention it to the server so I won’t ding them for that. Decent beer selection (and $5/pint :) Great out of the way spot for a meal and to watch the river go by, would certainly recommend it.

I like the place, but tonight it was way off the mark. It wasn't crowded, 25-35% of a full joint. It seemed there were plenty of servers on. Our party of 3 sat out on the deck and it was a damn half hour before someone decided to take our orders. He seemed uninformed. We were ready by then. Simple, cheese steak and reuben sandwiches, a fish & chips and three beverages. We sat and waited for our food a full hour and it was good but couldn't see a reason for the delay. The fries were half orders all the way around, the pickles half size but the sandwiches were great. I couldn't really perceive any management present in the place. Maybe they were tired from an earlier holiday crowd on this memorial day 2022.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!! I know this makes me sound like a Karen but hear me out... my dad,his friend, my younger brother, and I went here tonight...We were eating dinner and the weather was horrible causing the tables to flying around the power went out which caused the card machine too not work. My dad offered too give him his phone number and he would come back the next day and pay for the meal. The owner tried too write down the credit card information on a peice of paper. We said no and he proceeded too begin a fight. My dad walked away being the bigger person and the owner went into my brother's face and my dad's friends face. The owner is not a good bussiness owner but the waitress team was amazing.

This is one of Favourite places right now great atmosphere great food. We come here all the time and unfortunately the service Abby is horrible, take to long to bring drinks and my food order is not correct and the she wants to be ate with me on the order. I am not pleased this time. Next time I will not be letting her serve me. I will come back.
