The Pink Hippo Cafe

It was such a great café to stop at and enjoy a very tasty, fluffy dessert in the sun. I sat outside and enjoyed the world passing by, but seeing the sea in the distance also - so, so beautiful. The staff were ever so lovely, and attentive at all times. I was well looked after and no request was too big, despite being so busy. As for the pancakes... well, I cannot praise them enough, they were just perfect, fully, plenty, sweet, and with great topics. I would definitely recommend.

Stopped for a sandwich and drink, cafe was quite busy and I felt girls were brisk, when speaking to customers We ordered drinks, a sandwich and toasted tea cake, milkshake was ordered with no cream but came with cream, I mentioned this and they did offer to change it, but I didn’t want it wasted so had the milkshake with cream, toasted tea cake came already buttered, which we found odd as they didn’t ask, how much butter was required My daughter who has mild disabilities needed the toilet, I asked where it was and was told where to go, then another worker said you can’t use the toilet, it’s out of action, which was a surprise to the other worker, I asked how long it would be out of action and was told 20 minutes, no other explanation was given, they didn’t say it was broken or being cleaned, so given the cafe was open, there should be toilet facilities available. I had to take my daughter to the church toilet (few minutes walk away) and then return to our drinks / food - I don’t feel this is acceptable, had the staff been more friendly, it may not have seemed so bad, I must add, the girl who took our original order, was friendly

Popped in for a quick bite and beverage whilst in the highstreet. Busy staff running a takeaway and eat in service, a little confusing as to how/where to order as they have different tills and ordering processes going on. The cafe itself is a little plain and perhaps in need of a lick of paint, and the cleanliness was below par - lots of food on the floor and unwiped tables. The friendly waitress did however promptly offer to wipe my table upon taking my order. Service was fast and the coffee to a good standard. An okay cafe but I expected higher given the number of similar joints on Leigh highstreet and local competition.
