Cash only. Very busy but lots of servers so the queue goes down quickly. The haddock was large, crispy, but a little overcooked. The chips were plentiful and a bit soggy. Good value for money and good service.
Great tasting fish and chips. Great for coeliacs as chips are fried completely separate and they will fry fish without the batter. My go-to place for fish and chips as I've never been glutened there.
Absolutely massive portions of superb chips from this newly reopened chippy. I was going to have a Large portion, until I saw a medium. No way. Medium for me, small for my wife, and the fish - fantastic.
Lovely friendly place even though they were about to close they were still happy to serve us, we have been coming up to Downham for over 30yrs visiting family and weather its been to eat in, or takeaway we have never had a bad experience and don't buy from anywhere else, they are lovely owners the food is always great too, well worth a visit if you've never been before I highly recommend 😊👍

Sins iv started working at downham fryers I was new to the job as I am a former machine operator and as the days went past and I got used to every think I got to know the regular customers it’s a lovely and friendly place to eat in or takeaway and if you won’t a chat or enythink you can just ask or it’d you won’t your food cooked different we can do love working there
First time eating in here and we were not disappointed. Good quality and portion size. Plenty of parking next door.
Clean place where you can eat in if you wish. The chips were tasty but the portion size was not substantial enough for me.
Best fish, chips and peas I have had in a very very long time. Very friendly in the cafe.... definately must do!
It is a brilliant Fish and chip shop good service and also they sell battered fish or grilled fish as well as other things.
