Review The Royal Oak Restaurant - Duddington

Had lunch with family en route to Birmingham. Great coronation chicken sandwich with perfect chips and salad. Salad was fresh simple, dressed and seasoned with no raw red onions! Chicken filling was best I’ve had in memory. Excellent service. It was quiet when we went but all the signs were good!

Quaint little gastropub on the edge of a beautiful little village. Food was outstanding. The Pan friend Halibut with lobster bisque and caviar was completely worth the price!! The spinach gnocchi was also delicious. I loved how light but filling the dish felt. We were served by a lovely young lady and felt we were extremely welcomed particularly seeing as we were not regulars and it was simply a recommendation from a local!! Will definitely hope to come back if we’re in the area again.

Haven't been here in years. The food was delicious, had the chicken and ham pie and rump steak, apparently the best steak eaten in years. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

We came across The Royal Oak by chance and are very glad we did. The room was lovely, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, they loved our two (occasionally troublesome!) collies and the food was absolutely lovely. What a great find this was and one that we'll definitely be returning to. So if you've got a long journey ahead of you, it's not very far from the A1 and I'd definitely recommend you stop over! Fab!!

We stayed over yesterday with 4 friends and our 2 dogs for my husband’s 60th birthday. What can I say? Absolutely brilliant. Ros was on her own and so friendly and attentive, you couldn’t ask for a better front of house, the evening meal was fantastic (great chef). The breakfast was wonderful. I just can’t get enough of this place. Can’t wait to come back.

Arrived this afternoon. Fabulous service, superb meal . From the time we arrived the member of staff was busy but quickly said that he would be with us as soon as possible. He offered to take our bags, showed us to our room and followed up on our questions quickly and efficiently, checking when he didn't know the answers. Our evening meal was presented beautifully, and the staff took note of my strange order -2 starters, checking again with the chef to ensure it could be done. I queried the ingredients of a drink, it not being quite as I had expected. The following drinks were perfect. Service was attentive without being intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend this country pub.

We’ve just had lunch here and what a delight! The warm, friendly atmosphere which greeted us, the beautifully decorated interior and not forgetting the food. I had the courgette & onion tart and it was delicious. My partner had the burger (also delicious) and Peggy our dog also got a doggy treat! Great service, even better food, we highly recommend. We will definitely be back soon!

Yesterday we took my Dad for lunch for his birthday. (There is wheelchair access). Beautiful setting. The food was excellent as was the service. The landlady couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely 10/10 all round. We couldn't fault a thing and will go again.

Had a super post-walk lunch at the Oak today. Great food and excellent service in what was an extremely busy afternoon. The team kept a smile on faces throughout the challenging service, and the food was first class. Well done guys.

I have stayed here several times now and always enjoy the experience. The rooms are good vale and always well prepared. The food is really excellent, best Chicken and Ham pie I have come across and great Sticky Toffee pudding. Breakfasts are also excellent with plenty on the plate and good juice and excellent coffee.

I loved everything about this place, definitely going again! The service was great, really nice friendly atmosphere, great selection of beer, beautiful setting, great food, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away for my sisters birthday. Thank you.

Food was lovely, all the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly, room was really sweet and clean, we had both dinner and breakfast,, all was great... 😊

The twin room was a good size and nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable, I wanted to bring it home with me.

Beautiful breakfast food and lovely aesthetic inside and out, staff were very friendly with nice conversation, little friendly dog (belle) on arrival with a sweet disposition but lovely to have around, great for animal lovers! Overall brilliant experience.

A fabulous welcome from Emma and the team and a very cosy nights stay at the Royal Oak. We were celebrating my Sisters birthday and pleased we book this delightful pub / restaurant. Set with a beautiful view of rolling fields and wildlife, in a peaceful location. A very warm welcome with a cosy log fire and great conversation. We had a fabulous nights stay in the best bed and duvet I’ve ever had away from home! Breakfast was perfect with fruit, pastries, a full English, the best toast and homemade marmalade with plenty of tea. We will most definitely be back. Huge thanks Emma

Superb meal this evening complimented by super friendly team..gorgeous place. We were not staying in the hotel so unable to review the rooms.

We broke a journey here and went for dinner and an overnight stay. When we walked in we were given a welcome by Emma who saw to our immediate needs and showed us our room. Dinner was great, really good food at reasonable prices. The chicken and ham pie was outstanding. Breakfast was to the same standard, really good. Dog friendly throughout. There's a very friendly house dog who potters around and might beg for food.
