Top quality breakfast, one of the best breakfast around definitely a recommendation for anyone who’s looking for the classic Full English breakfast, the service was excellent as well a definite 5 stars from me..

Nice food. Thought the owner was being a little shirty with me at first but think thats just how they natually are with everyone. A nice coffee and good food in generous portions means I'll keep it on the list if I'm in the area in future

Amazing food and down to earth hosts, although be warned of the sarcasm from the chef 😉 The welcome my family and I have received from this cafe over a number of years has been incredible, service is really personalised and extremely accommodating of requests and any allergies. The cafe is extremely popular for good reason, and is often packed with customers, so book ahead to get a table so you aren't disappointed. The lunch menu is often overlooked in favour of breakfasts, and although delicious, I highly recommend a lunchtime visit on a weekday as the salads and curries are to die for. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Epic breakfast! Simple sausage sarnie... fab sausages, perfectly cooked and super soft white bread. Pot of tea with a mini coconut macaroon on the side. Staff polite and attentive despite how busy they were. Absolutely spot on... we’ll be back!

Went here today and the food was beyond incredible. My partner ordered a full Monty breakfast and I ordered the waffles with fruit and vanilla ice cream. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back! Friendly team and really good value for money. Thank you Godfreys! 😀

Lovely little place with outdoor seating to watch the world go by. Great breakfast menu and good value considering the quality and portion sizes! Friendly staff and top chef who comes out to check how you are. Basically if you're thinking about it, just go.

We were looking for somewhere to have brunch. So thankful that we stopped here. It's a great place, very friendly and helpful staff. Six of us for breakfast- absolutely fantastic! Great food and drink very good service. The only negative is that it is too far away to be our local cafe

We normally choose 5 or 6 items from the breakfast menu and enjoy the most delicious scrambled egg and chef-cooked breakfast but, on this occasion, chose 'Best Ever Porridge'. What a treat! I don't wish to spoil the surprise by posting this picture but this porridge is both naughty and nice and delicious!

Wow This place is great. Took my parents and brother for an easter treat on Saturday 31/03/2017. We had a warm welcome when we entered. we ordered from the breakfast menu and I have never seen a Full English Breakfast so big me and my mum agreed it was underpriced. It was so tasty and everything was cooked perfect and they even offer dairy free hot drinks. All the staff are friendly and helpful we will definitely be going again but it's best to book as it's so popular and you might not be able to be seated if you don't book.

Excellent service. We had Welsh rarebit with crispy bacon. Superb. The bacon was just perfect. Only 3rd time we’ve been out since March. Felt very safe.

Wow! The breakfast was amazing. I can't believe we've never been here before. We will definitely be back again soon. (Just hold the green stuff next time. I'm not a fan of green stuff on a brekky 😉)

Lovely village cafe serving excellent (and huge !) staples. With a stream running close-by, and wonderful food like this, it's easy to see why its always so busy. Stop if you can, it'll be worth it !

Booked a table at Godfrey's for the full monty breakfast. Firstly the owner best described as Marmite !! you'll either love him or hate him but one things for certain the food is absolutely spot on !! Could not fault a thing, my partner has a dairy intolerance and he went all out to find out none of food contained dairy prior to our arrival , will definitely be booking again ... Best full English I've ever had , and I've had a few thank you 👍

This is a very pleasant place with a view to accommodating numbers and groups. There is a welcoming approach and an evident loyal clientele. The food is plentiful and tasteful. There are plans for a new place that will appeal to the younger age group with snacks and shakes.

A group of us were in town for a couple of days for a funeral. Godfrey really cheered us up and made us great breakfasts two days in a row. I didn’t realise he knew about the funeral until we said goodbye, and he said how sorry he was for our loss. He’s a diamond. Really lifted our spirits and the food is good too. Well done sir.

Incredible little place! Excellent quality and variety of food - was very accomodating, especially for my sister and I who are lactose/gluten intolerant! The breakfast was unreal. What a real gem of a place to have found!

Went for a family birthday breakfast today. Food and service was excellent, it was my first time here and definitely not the last. Sat outside in the sun.with new baby grandson....perfect.

Simple but effective menu, great atmosphere friendly staff. Absolutely loved the avocado and bacon ciabatta, a taste sensation. Not on our way, but we'll go out of our way to come again!

Out on my Motorbike early one Sunday morning and saw the table and chairs outside so pulled up for a coffee and bacon cob. (He wasn't actually open but served me anyway) very very nice coffee and very very nice cob!!

After reading the fantastic views on google and Facebook we decided to try here as we were not from the area but we were visiting Duffield for a wedding event. We opened the door and started looking where to sit with only to be greeted with the worlds most abrupt rude man I have ever come across in hospitality. He bombarded demanding why we had not even thought to book as he only has a small tables.. we were so taken aback none of us knew what to say. He then guided us unenthusiastically to a 6 seated table he had free.. when another rude lady asked us ‘what we wanted’ we were waiting for another party member who had just ran to the car and wouldn’t be long, we explained this to her and during that time she came back 3 times and the final time rolled her eyes, gave us the dirtiest look I have ever seen and walked off. After all this we decided to leave, the gentleman then came back over to us and asked why we were leaving ? Very very abrupt and rude again we were all so quiet, upset and overwhelmed that this was happening that we didn’t know what to say other than we weren’t hungry. We were totally in shock. Save yourself the bother if your a party bigger than 2 and go to the White Hart down the road, fantastic service and food! Very very welcoming. Absolutely outstanded at Godfreys, never had an experience like it.
