Skrimp Shack

I got hip to Skrimp Shack in Winchester coming back from doing Deliveries. Went in and got a PO Boy. Made me wanna look for a Skrimp Shack close to where I usually am, and found one in Manassas Dumfries and Richmond Hwy. Went back for the fried shrimp tacos, been hooked ever Since. Also had the Big cat fish sandwich. Sandwich so big, took me two days to finish it.That's was back in 2021. Last time I was there was last week for the same thing. Stamped by me

If I could go beyond 5stars I would. Only been here twice and we WILL be back. Shawna is an absolute gem and the reason why we will return. She took care of us from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. The food: FIRE, the service: UNMATCHED. They just gained 2more regular customers that’s for sure.

I love this place! I came to the small town of Dumfries to visit some friends recently, and one of the best restaurants in that small town was this place, the Skrimp Shack. How could I possibly turn down coming to a place like this? I didn't. We come here for dinner the very first night I got into town. It's a small, counter service restaurant in a strip mall. No big crowds, just walked up to the counter and looked at the menu. There was an impressive amount of seafood on the menu! I had never really analyzed seafood availability in this New England area before, but they had plenty of options for me. I came from the Gulf Coast where you could find it pretty readily, and then I moved to the landlocked Orlando, so this was a fun surprise for me. I weighed some pros and cons, and I ultimately decided to get a nice skrimp basket. About a dozen perfectly fried skrimps with some nice sweet potato fries. Nothing was oily. Everything was crispy. Skrimps were plump and cooked well. I was very happy. I also got to try the mac 'n' cheese side, it was exactly what you would expect. Add some pepper on top and it's perfect. I also got the sweet tea to drink. Very sweet. As a Southerner, it was very satisfying. Overall, I was very happy and I think the Skrimp Shack represented Dumfries very admirably. If I ever come back, I will definitely come back.

I would like to thank Shawna for her excellent service and help with resolving an issue. I had ordered from Skrimp Shack twice before and I would ask for a gallon of sweet tea. When the driver would arrive, there would be only ½ gallon of tea. When calling Uber Eats, they would say they would reach out to Skrimp Shack, but nothing would happen. So, I called the restaurant directly and Shawna answered. Upon hearing my situation, Shawna handled it with great professionalism and ease. She ensured that the driver had two half gallons of tea for my orders. I would like to thank her very much and that she is an excellent asset to your restaurant. Bobby Anderson

I just can’t keep up w/ inflation anymore so I’m much more discerning in my choices of meals when out and about. The SKRIMP shack in Dumfies VA still provides a great value to dollar ratio, the crew puts out hot food, you can sit back and actually enjoy like a proper meal. It’s not overpriced, fast food garbage thrown at you after sitting on a warming shelf. Shawna, taking orders and serving put a smile on my face with her humor and genuinely pleasing attitude. (Thank you lovely lady, your warm attitude was appreciated!) My dollar buys 25-50% less today, I choose to give it to establishments where I both feel valued and get some value back for my money. Great job guys, thank you for the hot, crispy and flavorful meal again.

Came in an hour before close and they were out of calamari and oysters. The shrimp and crab po boy was a 7/10, pretty good but needs a real remoulade. The sauce they gave me was like a vinegarette? Also, the po boy comes with nothing but bread, shrimp, and scant crab meat. They're able to add on lettuce, tomato, etc but it'd be an obsurdly dry sandwich with just what it comes with. Mac and cheese wasn't very good, a 6/10.

Being physically challenged, it is necessary to have delivery of my meals. I can NOT find enough words to express just how awesome this place is for such excellent food and service. Today was my 1st order and definitely will NOT be my last. CASSANDRA answered with patience all my questions on the phone to help me place my order. She sent love in and with my food. How lucky a business owner is to have such a wonderful employee and happy dedicated professional staff. I have NEVER EVER had such a superior haddock fish sandwich! My hat is off to the Chef. It was so tasty with the perfect spices, so fresh, definitely plentiful, and prepared Mitch's way. I loved it!!!! I am so glad my neighbor, Sam, who eats there ALL the time, suggested I try this place. He was right. Definitely a true asset to Dumfries and Northern Virginia. I will pass the word that this is the place!!

As someone from the Caribbean, I have a deep love for seafood, which is a big part of my upbringing. One place that has always satisfied my cravings for fried seafood is Shrimp Shack. I have practically tried every item on their menu, but their catfish stands out as my absolute favorite. During my last visit, I couldn't resist getting the Shack Pack, even though I am currently located four counties away from the restaurant.
