Just been here for the first time, it's a really nice wee spot. Parking is easy, staff are very friendly and food is excellent. Drinks are reasonably priced too. Really enjoyed it and will be back.
Friendly efficient staff, good food at reasonable prices.
Management need to look at a better supply of beers and coffee. Current situation is not fair on staff.
Lovely coffee and cake. Staff very attentive and the bistro is in a wonderful location.
Love this place! I work night shifts and go for a morning swim, and a coffee. a young man with tattoos is always very welcoming and nothing was ever too much for him and he set my payment plan up for me to use the pool as I am not good with tech!! Beautiful scenery. Inside and out.
Food is okay, plenty of space for a wheelchair, staff were pleasant
Sooooo good! Sweet fries perfect! Warm plate! Teriyaki chicken taste amazing! And my favourite - sticky toffee pudding! Amazing!
Really nice food, excellent service and pleasant ambience
Brilliant family place. Fancy without being snobby. Going back again.
Wonderful quality and tasty food.
Lovely atmosphere. Clean and inviting. Pleasant staff. Car park adjacent.
Food for early evening supper was really nice, just the right portion size. 2 courses for £10.75, although we just had mains. I can recommend Tempura chicken with sweet potato fries and salad.
I would go again.
The food was delicious, staff were amazing. They looked after us well, so friendly & helpful. Nothing was any trouble for them. The toilets were immaculate, the Bistro was spotless. We will def be going back to the Bistro next time we are in Dumfries. I would gladly give the Bistro more than a 5 ***** rating.
Loved the food as usual. But had But of a wait this time. That is the only reason I've do a star.
Lovely clean place plenty of room between the tables. Great staff always helpful.
The swimming pool is lovely and warm.
I'm at it again with the 4 stars... Now, I know this place doesn't make money. Its élégant but has a swim pool. Its chic but the staff are often too familiar. My wild mushrooms on toast (not what they called it}) was yummy. My chicken on haggis mash super tasty though part of the chicken was dry. The result of being under a heat lamp too long I suspect. My co-diners loved theirs. And the early bird price of £15 for 2 courses was I think a bargain. So why doesn't it make money? I hope it keeps open. I reckon its value is hard to beat.
Great food and company in lovely surroundings
A fleeting visit at my son's graduation from the university of Glasgow but very lovely surroundings, all light and airy and in the present heatwave I would have loved to have dived into the pool. Quite a nice selection of gin cocktails on offer and generous servings of food. The Crichton really is a very special place. Go there!
Fantastic area and great food
