Great coffee shop just out of the town centre. They do a great protugese custard tart. Coffee is good, but they could improve the foam to coffee ratio in their Cappuccino.

How blessed are we to have two bijou venues within walking distance of home. Have visited Old Cinema Laundrette lots of times but this was our first visit to Claypath Delicatessen. And what a Quality, Quirky, Quintessentially English evening it was in the company of Robyn Hitchcock esquire. Brilliant guitarist, sometime bizarre lyricist. We finally caught him after the Gateshead gig was cancelled the other year. An extra toilet would be great, perhaps a bucket in the back yard. Take a cushion if you're precious or infirm, and drink lots of Loweswater Gold, a drink to satisfy any palate. Very friendly, natural staff, will definitely return, the sooner the better.

Lovely place for a coffee or a bite to eat, they bake their own bread, pastries and pizza's which are just delicious. Also they have a sun trap of a garden and live music once a month, early Saturday evenings. A nice, friendly atmosphere supporting independent musicians. All in all a great indie oasis in a sea of corporates.

Amazing Sourdough. Delicious and inventive Pizza toppings. Maybe one lived a sheltered existence but figs on pizza was a taste sensation.

Claypath Deli has got to be the best cafe in Durham. The food is amazing, the staff are so lovely, and the sourdough and other baked products are out of this world!

Friendly staff in a nice cosy place. The pizza is awesome! A must try to eat in or take away. If you eat in ask to try some of the dipping sauces, you definitely won't be disappointed.

Superb little cafe/bakery, a hidden gem of Durham and well worth the walk a little out of town for. Coffee is fantastic, sandwiches excellent and the bread is absolutely amazing. Wish I had been more in my four years here!

Rustic little place which has a fair number of students purporting to be studying taking up tables for excessive periods of time which is a shame as there were paying customers waiting for tables..... Good sandwiches and coffee, if a little pricey, and friendly staff.
