Randy's Pizza

I wish I could show you a picture of my food, but it's gone. Its quintessential NY style pizza. While I'm a Detroit pizza fan, it was tasty and it was hot. I loved my salad. But the people that are willing to take a second and make sure you're happy is the real five stars behind this joint. Sorry for the photo, I want my Google points.

I dunno how a small pizza with 3 toppings and a drink totaled $30 but that’s what it was. Now on to the pizza. The toppings were all very good as was the ratio of sauce to cheese. The sauce had good tomato and some light herb flavor. The cheese was of good quality and wasn’t oily like some lesser quality brands. The crust was good. All in all a solid pizza.

I've been a big fan of Randy's in Hope Valley for over 10 years. Best pizza in town and the hoagies are top notch. As a Durham native, whenever I'm asked for a good pizza place, it is always Randy's. Recently their service has been far less than stellar. I've had two instances of my order being wrong and last week I called in an order and when I arrived to pick it up I was told that they did not receive my order. Each of these times the staff attempted to make me feel as though I did something wrong rather than offering any kind of apology or resolution. For the incident last week, they tried to tell me that I must have called the wrong store (I've been going to the Hope Valley location for over 10 years...they are in my phone contacts). I'm extremely disappointed because I love their food, but they have lost a very loyal customer.

Randy's is AWESOME. It was in Durham way before Durham was "cool" or "trendy" and is my first and only choice for some good pizza in the city. I love it and have converted many friends after just one visit :) I haven't had their non-pizza menu items, but once you have their pizza there will be no going back!

This location has the BEST eggplant parmagiana in Durham. It is because the sauce if excellent. The eggplant is well-seasoned. The vegetable slices are served with spaghetti - many locations nowadays are slices of eggplant only. One June 13, 2022 at 4pm, it took a lot longer than expected for the order to be made up, but at least I knew it was freshly assembled. Pasta from the other Randy's locations is simply not as tasty. I guess each franchise gets to make up with its own recipes.
