La Superior Carniceria

When I picked this place I didn't realize it was a grocery store with a kitchen in the back and I admit I was skeptical at first. You have to wind your way through some isles and a bakery area and then the room opens up. It's full of tables and chairs that have seen better days. On the wall which houses the ordering counter and a window to the kitchen, you will find a smattering of laminated papers touting the daily specials. There is also a screen that cycles through the menu and pictures of various items. The lady working the counter spoke no English and couldn't figure our request for diet coke. After some vigorous gesticulations we managed to get everything sorted. She told us our number and we set down. After about 10 minutes our food came out. The meat was delicious and flavorful. The guac was awesome. The rice and beans were okay. My friend got a burrito the size of a baby's arm. This was also pretty good, but she said she will try something more exciting next time. TL;DR you should try do the thing.

I absolutely love stopping in here getting my lunch while working in Durham. Everything is authentic with fresh made corn tortillas, fresh meats with a butcher in the store, fresh breads and pastries. They have a grocery store inside the same establishment and is a must if you want authentic Mexican foods!!

Fresh fruits and vegetables in stock. Well Informed money staff who know and understands transactions when sending money to Mexico. The meat section has great cuts and selections of items. Hands down the BEST places to get chorizo, it's price is great for the flavor and amount! Each time I go there, they keep improving the store by building new sections or adding new items to their restaurants menu. Cakes are great looking and the bread is nice. Amazing array of Mexican and latino candy too.

There are a lot of places where both the store and restaurant would be considered the best for Mexican food. But that's a high mark to achieve in Durham with all the great places to get great authentic Mexican food. Nevertheless is definitely worth stopping in and getting a bite to eat if you're in the area.
