I was in and out as they took and completed my order quickly. I did go a little later in the morning so no line. Server at the register was polite and fast. I ordered bagels and the pimento cheese filled bagel. Both were fresh and good. Parking can get full in that area but great option to avoid long lines at other places.

Bagels were tasty, atmosphere was actually nice. Can't wait 1/4 hour for a bagel tho.
Owner, get out of the business.

Has potential, but terrible logistics and only so-so bagels mean this place is disappointing. I have been twice and the line always moves quite slowly. Their point-of-sale system, Revel, operates on a large iPad that requires both the cashier and the customer to input information. The orders must be relatively complex because the cashier spends minutes tapping away for each customer. Then customers must decide on a tip and swipe their own card. This slows everything down. Places like Monuts have a similar system but the cashiers somehow operate it much faster. When orders are ready they call out your name and you retrieve it from a pretty cramped hallway window.
My second visit I called ahead to avoid this bottlenecking problem. I was told it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I showed up after 15 minutes but there was no place to pick up takeout orders separate from the line. I couldn't talk to the people at the pickup window, they just follow the orders that pop onto their screen, and only one cashier was working despite it being a Sunday morning. So I waited in line, but upon reaching the front and telling the cashier I called ahead he both identified my order, "The Loxsmith, right?" But then also told me it had not "gone through." Apparently he had typed it into the computer but not sent it to the back to be made. No apology was offered for this. Essentially it was as if I had never called at all.
The bagels themselves are good, but not hot (toasting is offered). The best NYC bagel shops use bagels fresh out of the boiler and then the oven, so toasting is not required if you arrive in the morning they are steamy and warm. The bagel was surprisingly flat on my sandwich, similar to the faddy "flagels" sometimes offered as a lower carb option elsewhere. I am not sure if that is by design or if they flatten them down to make the sandwiches. The lox and cream cheese were fine but not spectacular. They do generously apply it, which is good, but for $10 I would expect higher quality or at least a side like a pickle or drink or something.
Overall they need to think through how to make this more like a bagel shop and not simply rest on the fact that they're the only non-Bruegger's option.

We went to the Bagel Bar on a whim Saturday morning, and I'm glad we did! My Canadian comeback was amazing, and my husband scarfed down his green eggs & ham so fast, you'd think they gave him an empty basket.
We'll definitely be back to relax on the weekends!

Great bagel place with delicious cream cheese flavors. The garlic and herb cream cheese is my favorite and tastes great on any bagel. Their coffee is good too. Unfortunately they frequently get my order wrong and forget an ingredient or two, which is only an issue if you take your bagel to go and dont check it first.

Can be a great bagel shop but are so inconsistent. I swear it's a different cashier whose training every time I go in. And on a weekend morning that backs the line up pretty quickly. Also, the bagels tend to vary in size from week to week and it depends on whose cooking how much cream cheese you'll get and whether a topping gets left off your sandwich. When they're on it's a great place but when they're off you miss the days when Monuts was on this side of town.

I'm a bagel person and this place fits me. I had one of their open face melts and a cup of coffee. It was pretty good and it was super fresh. They have various types of bagels and you can choose any type of bagel even if you get a sandwich which I like. The atmosphere is chill. I just wish they had a little music in there.

I have to say i probably go to the bagel bar in downtown more than anyone. Sometimes I have several orders at once ( for myself and coworkers) and the staff never appears frustrated or too busy to help in fact --the staff is always cheerful. The bagel sandwiches are delicious-affordable and a quick fix for anyone who works downtown. I work at a hair salon close to the location and several of the workers have gone above and beyond to offer great service. The coffee is also delicious and its a great option for caffeine addicts that cant find a cup anywhere else in the downtown loop. I recommend the bagel bar to anyone and all the clients who come in simply agree!!!
