True to its namesake, come here for delicious burgers and beer. We went on a Saturday night in the beginning of November and they had a very long line, a great sign that the food will be worth it. What I never expected with visiting a restaurant in the South was that tomatoes are considered a seasonal item, so all of the menus said they were gone for the season. But every other topping was, thankfully available and they also offer a wide variety of sauces. It was my first-time having pimento cheese on a burger and I’m not sure how I’ll ever go back to American. The burger was cooked perfectly, very flavorful and was a great portion size. An abundance of fries that were all crispy and delicious. I enjoyed that you could choose how many beers you wanted in the flight and loved the board it was served with. The location is right in downtown so you’ll find street parking and a few lots as well as a garage close by. It had your typical mico-brewing atmosphere and was just a great experience for an easy Saturday night dinner. If I lived nearby, I’d be back for sure. Even with it being very busy, the staff was efficient and friendly.

We've visited this spot a few times now when we're in town visiting family, and we absolutely love it. The service is both insanely fast and friendly, and our appetizers are always out no sooner than we've managed to take a seat and settle in, with our actual meals close behind. Everything here is fresh, thoughtfully made, and with a ton of different options and unique flavors. Their burgers are amazing, with dozens of different toppings to choose from. Their house made organic sodas are phenomenal, and we often talk about them for days after the meal. An absolute must on their menu is, of all things, some fries: the duck frites are hands down the best fries I've ever had. So much flavor! The laid back ambience really caps off the experience every time. Great restaurant, especially if you love a good burger with a unique and very creative touch.

I am in town for business and a friend recommended this place. It exceeded my expectations in every way! I love chimichurri, but I’ve never tried it on a burger before. It was absolutely mouthwatering and cooked perfectly. The beer I tried was made from apples grown at a local farm. Whenever I travel, I try my best to support local business and stay away from chains so this was a nice cherry on top. If I’m ever back up this way I will definitely be coming back.

Bull City Burger and Brewery in downtown Durham is so great!🍺 They have delicious sides including my favorites: fried pickles and Duck Frites! Juicy #burgers, and freshly brewed beer — all in a casual atmosphere. This independent, locally owned, farm-to-fork restaurant focuses on #sustainability and also has a good variety of #vegan options! 😋 They make everything in-house, including grinding the beef!

Absolutely fantastic every time. The sweet potato fries are covered in brown sugar and are so darn good. They have a wonderful selection of housemaid sodas! They make my bourbon drinks so well. The service is great. The atmosphere is cool. There's a patio and chocolate peanut butter cake!! 😎😎

It was one of the best burgers I’ve had! I got a gluten free bun and had no reaction to the food, so it was great! They make everything themselves from pickles to burgers and it was all very tasty - I highly recommend their lemonade too if you like old fashioned sweet lemonade. I was told fries/duck frites do not have gluten on them, but are made in the same frier as battered things so they are not safe from gluten cross contamination. The place is cute and clean, and the staff is friendly. No complaints!

Came for lunch for our first visit. Food was pretty good. However, I don’t like seeing credit card processing fees passed along to consumers directly. Build it into your prices or offer a cash discount, but don’t charge me 3% for using my credit card. I appreciate a business wanting to pay its employees better, but I have no idea if that claim is legit or not. All I see is an extra fee for coming to eat at your restaurant. Since I pulled up the menu online just to see what I wanted to order, I didn’t even see the notice about the fee until after paying. At least put a sign up on the register or something.

Great burgers. Tons of options. The fries were really good. We had both the frites and the sweet potato fries. Was pretty expensive when you started adding the options on the burgers though.
