Topdog "the Boss Of Dogs"

We visited on a busy weekend day but there was only one person ahead of us. We ordered two veggie dogs, a side of fries and a coke. Price: 1/5 $8.99 for ONE Beyond Sausage dog. While the dogs are good, you can get an entire pack of four for these at the local grocery store for $8.99. The grilled toppings are free. Menu: 2/5 I gave one point for the Beyond Sausage option. The MAJOR drawback here - the only bun option is not vegan. Serving a vegan option is great, however, it seems like a money grab if only the dog is vegan but the bun is not. Unfortunately we didn't know they were served on Hawaiian rolls until after we ordered. Food: 3/5 The beyond sausage was good. They did have plenty of toppings to choose from. My partner asked for shredded lettuce, was charged an extra .50 cents, but it was forgotten. Not a huge deal, but when we went back to have it corrected, he got about six pieces of old wilted lettuce which was just not worth it. There were also toppings all over our tray not on the dog, it was just weird...like they were thrown in the direction of the hot dog not on the hot dog. Service was slow. When ordering, the young lady taking our order asked us to slow down and repeat our order at least three times. Not sure if she was new, but there is definitely opportunity for training. The wait was probably 15 minutes - and the tiny portion of fries were not cooked all the way through.

I truly enjoyed my experience at TopDog at Southpoint Mall. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious and filling. The Carolina dog is amazing! I really like the concept of a grilled hotdog on a Hawaiian roll. It definitely makes having a hotdog fun again. Overall, good food, good price, and good people!!

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 2 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5++ Lets face it, we all love a good hot dog! TopDog of Durham is AMAZING! I do my best to hand 5 star reviews out sparingly - but these guys truly knocked the ball out the park as my taste buds received a 5 star experience today! TopDog is located inside of SouthPoint Mall (one of the areas busiest malls). TopDog (TD) is a small kiosk like restaurant sitting at the rear of the food court. Parking is free and always limited near the food court. If you don't feel like fighting the crowd fret not as TD is partnered with Door-dash so you can have it delivered to your front door. It may be best to park near the mall entrances and just walk through the mall to get to the food court if you do tackle the crowd. The location for TD is great but could be better. TD is one of the small kiosk sitting in the rear of the food court so its easy to miss them as you'll mainly see them as you are exiting. I was assisted by Gee and Demetrius! Prior to grabbing my food I asked Demetrius for the full rundown on the menu. He broke the menu down for me so nicely that the youngest consumer could grasp the concept. Over at TD they pride themselves on providing fresh ingredients daily. Demetrius told me that the veggie dog was a crowd pleaser so I took him up on his suggestion and WOWWWW! What an amazing hot dog. Be SURE to try the Hawaiian roll! They toast it - the genius who thought of this should run for president! Mannnnn... it was AMAZING! The veggie sausage is actually "beyond meat". I dressed it with grilled onions, peppers and slaw. TD offers chips as a side. I must say, this was one of the best hot dogs I've had in years! TD accepts Apple Pay and Google Wallet. They even have a loyalty program called Five Star. When you go be sure to try the dipping sauces as well! A few of my favorite things about this hot dog shop is the food for starters! The hot dogs are topnotch. I love the marketing and the presentation! I also love the menu and how its laid out. Its super simple yet creative. I absolutely love the idea of toasting those Hawaiian rolls. 5 Stars to TD! Next time I come back I must try the taquito!

Im not a vegetarian, but I had the vegetarian hotdog based on the employee's recommendations. It was AMAZiNG!! Gee (the TopDog employee) was able to make the best hot dog I've ever had!! Give this guy a raise!!! I couldn't even tell this was a vege dog, I thought I accidentally got the meat one!! Nope, Gee was just an amazing chef!! ;)
