Lovely little spot right in Durham’s historic Main Street that (I believe) has gotten better with time. The food is well-portioned and flavorful. We ordered the triple delight, steamed dumplings, and General Tso’s chicken. The triple delight was superb (good quality shrimp!), the dumplings were excellent, and the General Tso was above average. Other places often make it too sweet, but here it is well-balanced. I just wish it were a bit crispier. It’s obviously been take-away only for the past several months, but the service is always quick and friendly.
I’ve seen many restaurants come and go at this location, but I sincerely hope Golden House stays around. We came from outside Durham, despite being much closer to other Chinese restaurants. We will surely be coming back.

Just great food. Best spring rolls we've had. Very fresh, fast service, gave them a tip on a call in order and you'd think I'd cured Covid, such nice people. Our favorite place.

Best Chinese takeout I've had in CT. The vegetables are always fresh and the meat is high quality. And they also give a ton of food. It is certainly not the cheapest, but it is absolutely worth the trip. I hope they can open a more upscale place in Hartford or New Haven some day!

Fantastic food and people. Everyone is very friendly here. They really did amazing work to support the COVID-19 safety. completely re-did their entire counter unlike I seen any other business, sliding window, microphone speaker, completely sealed counter.. Their food has always been great, every entree and combo ive tried is fresh tasting and not generic at all. The portions for the price is awesome.

My rating is based upon what is a generally available in this area maybe 30 minutes in a radius. This place is very good but it's certainly not the best I've ever had. I've lived in New York and Los Angeles so my standards are a little closer to what a lot of this food should taste like. If I remove my standards and knowledge of how this food should taste then they would get 5 stars from me. Reason being frankly there is nothing else around. It is definitely a restaurant I frequent twice a month for my family. It is a nice change-of-pace reasonably priced and the food is quite good quality. Best I've ever had is a no. Best I've had in a 20-minute radius absolutely

They have apparently either learned to cook since opening or maybe it depends on what you order. The roast pork with snow peas is always excellent, they have decent PFR and lo mein. When they first opened, I ordered several things and they were all bad. Back then the General Tsao's chicken was like sweet and sweet and sour (I haven't tried it again because it was so bad) and they couldn't cook even rice. Still glad to have them in the neighborhood.

I got the sesame chicken with pork fried rice which was fantastic. Wait time was about 30 minutes but that was expected since it was a busy Friday night and we didn't call in. I know some reviews here were pretty negative on yelp, maybe that was just their first week? I thought it was great.
