Another great dining experience at Bells Never had a problem here and the service is brilliant Staff are friendly and nothing a problem Plenty of seating available today and it was a lovely place to eat Quality and value for money in this current climate Good chips and the fish was as white as the plate it was served on Tartare sauce is still the best you can tell it's made in house with their special recipe Thankyou

Dined in the restaurant for the first time, today. Really enjoyed the experience. Great fishing related decor, like lobster cages and ropes etc. Loved the ice cream van type wall decoration where the serving hatch is. Lovely and airy, and clean. Great service from all the waiting staff. Food was delicious. Good menu selection.

first time at bells fish&chip restaurant. Fish&chips was amazing choose half chips and half salad with mine.. It was the first time I ever had strawberries & pomegranates in my salad & French dressing on the side. We ordered 2 curry sauce but 1 would of been plenty for 2 to share toped it off with bread&butter.

First time trying here. Came because they do gluten free. Ordered: Small fish & chips with peas. Gluten free chips and peas. Tea and pop. Home made peas were delicious. Fish and chips were nice plus a canny cuppa. Gluten free chips were tasty too. Gluten free vinegar is in the glass bottles. . . . A little note to vegetarian / vegans: as standard everything is cooked in beef dripping. Veg oil is available, make sure to ask upon ordering. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and the place is clean and well looked after.

What a super place. The staff were friendly and attentive, without intruding. The service was quick but we never felt rushed. The food was delicious and I loved that I could have half salad and half chips. When someone needed help getting through a door, there was a staff member there. Such a great atmosphere, and classic fish and chips. Most of all though, the service was just what we needed. You have no idea how much it means to be served with genuine attention and consideration--well done to all the staff on duty on Sat 07/10/23 lunch time.

Smooth service fastfood. The fish was as big as my head. Honestly, great value for the price.

I remember Bells when it was a one room deal at the back of a terraced house in Gilesgate ... now they are getting ready to conquer the world! My wife and I had dinner, with family, at the Framwellgate emporium in Sep 2022. What can I say, large spacious premises, plenty of parking, clean with a view into the kitchens which I always like. Fish n chips ... superb ... hands down the best I have tasted. We are originally from the Durham area but have lived in the US for the last twenty years so we know what good fish n chips taste like !! We had flew into Heathrow a couple of days before, and had fish n chips at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant there. It was my pleasure to let the waitress at Bells know that Bell's fish n chips were not just better than Gordon's ... they were light years better. Highly recommended !!
