Little nice cafe located on top of town with decent seating area despite its small size. They have breakfast and lunch menu and freshly baked bread every day. Staff is welcoming and friendly. I remember when Flint Owl cafe first opened in East Grinstead - they had such amazing vegan and vegetarian food options then. I now go there from time to time to get banana bread or vegan blueberry muffin for my little one but would rarely get any lunch due to the limited veggie options. They usually have some sort of fried kimchi sandwich for the vegan option and a mozzarella toast for the vegetarian. They also have salads, but I find these overpriced. The vegan cakes are a bit of hit and miss - sometimes they are lovely and moist and sometimes extremely dry. Their bread is good and they have a variety of wholemeal, walnut, rosemary, focaccia and sourdough options. It would have been nice if the cakes and bread were not by the door, but they have placed some sort of plastic shield to protect the cakes. Perhaps the same thing could be done for the bread and have stuff pick the desired bread and not the customers.

Nice coffee & delicious cake, but the ambience of sitting areas is very bland. No effort has been made to make it cosy, interesting & welcoming, or even to make it minimal chic. Next time, I might just do a takeaway.

Super cute café. Would have liked to have seen more dairy free savory options other than just salad, but it is a small bakery, and they still had plenty of dairy free and gluten free cakes, probably more so then any other cafe I've seen. Also has a nice 2nd floor with a view over the street

Super yummy tasty fresh food. Coffee and cakes also very good here. Quirky building with upstairs space and some to back.on lower floor. It does get busy in here ...saw a comment about tables not being cleared but you can always ask staff to do that when they bring your food...they are just busy.

Best traditional bakery around in East Grinstead. Also good coffee and really really tasty deserts.

We went in to grab a coffee and some cake. The prices aren’t too bad but some things are more overpriced than others. Had a delicious (and huge) slice of apple and walnut cake which was amazing. We didn’t get coffee in the end as there was no where downstairs to sit, if I didn’t have a pram maybe I would’ve tried upstairs but it’s not the biggest place. I also don’t like how the majority of the food/cakes/bread is on the customers side and can easily be touched by anyone without the staffs knowledge (bit gross)

What a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of cake for breakfast or during the afternoon! Their bread and focaccia are the best in town!

Had 2 delicious salads from here. A chick pea and carrot with a kick. On another day I had a beetroot and sliced almond salad. Both were delicious

A friendly cafe! Quick service with a smile, and they offered me a doggy bag when I could not manage all of my Mac & Cheese. Very nice staff!

What all Bakeries should aspire to! Lovely - a huge selection of artisan loaves, along with plenty of cakes & a lovely breakfast selection. I had a warm cheese & tomato croissant to take away, as well as a decaf flat white & enjoyed every bit of it. Managed to stop myself going back for a second - it was only the queue outside that put me off, otherwise I would have done! A little pricier than other bakeries/cafes, but you really do get what you pay for & its worth it. Thank you
