First time I went there last night lovely pub really friendly staff and fantastic food. My partner and I had 2 different steaks cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth highly recommend a visit
Most friendly and homely pub in Hampton Court. Super friendly staff, they always go that extra distance to make sure everything is right for you. I have a physically demanding job that gives me little time to relax and at the end of a long day the food is always on point and the atmosphere is always relaxing and welcoming. Clearly the boss knows how to treat and choose staff well and it’s clear to see they are happy at work. Highly recommended.

Lovely welcome , delightful staff and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Delicious food and an amazing selection of drinks . Best pub in the area by far .
Always enjoy a visit to The Mute Swan, excellent food, very friendly staff, dog friendly, great atmosphere, no doubt my dog will drag me back there soon !
Brilliant food and great staff the food service in the bar is good, going to miss this place
Just a excellent pub with good beer, food, wine, service and location..
Loved it here! Turned up lunchtime on Boxing Day, expecting to struggle to get some food, but not only was there a table for us (it was still busy), the service was fab, and the food delicious! So we’ll definitely be back :)
The staff were absolutely brilliant - extremely professional / friendly / helpful and attentive.
The food is exceptional and always fresh! The truffle parmesan fries are a must have! The only thing that might have been nice was a bit of cream to g with the summer pudding.
The atmosphere is great and despite it being really busy we were well looked after by the staff.
This was my second visit and I will definitely visit again - a strong recommendation!
We had a delicious Sunday roast in the glorious autumn sunshine. Service was impeccable and food was spot on. The beef was cooked nice and pink and the pork was juicy. The sticky toffee pudding was a great choice to round off the meal. Highly recommend
Really excellent food, service and atmosphere - and not at all stuffy (even with the evidence that they're mid-renovation).
A couple of our party were coeliac and were pleasantly surprised at how well they were catered for. The meat eaters and vegetarians among us were all very happy as well.
Would definitely go back again.
Set back from the abhorrently busy road, two lanes in each direction almost always at a standstill, there is a sense of calm once you've reached the pub.
We've been coming here for a while and it's always been a solid stop. A decent selection of ales from near and far, you don't even clock the keg selection if all the pumps are in action. I opted for a Saltaire, and then a local Thames Ditton Brewery pint.
Inside it's cosy, there's a log fire in the winter or a breeze in the summer with outdoor seating in front and down the side. Upstairs, a posh little dining area accessible by a winding spiral staircase in the middle of the pub.
The pub building itself dates back hundreds of years (apparently) but there's little information online, even the pub website itself just talks about the fairground, the palace and bushy park over the pub history, so maybe there's not much to shout about.
What I love about this place is the simplicity, and the varied clientele it brings in. Locals still come despite the tourist hotspot opposite, and the everyone is met with some of the best service you'll see in a pub. The consistency here is outstanding, and it seems like everyone genuinely enjoys working here - and by virtue of that, people enjoy drinking here.
This place is easily accessible by Hampton COURT Station (Not the other ones), or if you fancy a walk, you can go from Kingston along the river path all the way to the palace gates, with a big delicious frosty one waiting at the end.
Such a lovely, relaxing visit after the crowds of Hampton Court Palace. I sat outside, but the inside was beautiful as well! Excellent food and service, exactly what I was looking for, just before getting back on the train. I especially appreciated the tasty vegan options available! Highly recommend.
What an amazing little venue. A gastro pub in Hampton Court. Excellent food. Great beverages. Sensational fit out. Indoor and outdoor tables. They may be under staffed at times but it's worth a visit.
Came here for dinner after visiting Hampton Court Palace. Food was above average but in general a tad bit salty. Service is good but food waiting time was long
Arrival: 6 pm
Seating: plenty inside plus upstairs and outdoor as well. We sat upstairs
Alcohols: plenty of options to choose
Foods: we got a cheese plate, Black garlic chicken breast, lamb pot pie . Delicious and flavorful. Chicken was very tender and juicy
Service: very good.
Atmosphere: friendly and fun.
We loved it! We’re really disappointed not to get to the Brassiere next door but this was a blessing. The food was restaurant quality not pub grub. The menu has lots of variety (it was a Sunday and I can’t stand a Roast). We were so happy with our food - I emptied my plate. Evidence below. Love it - recommend it - will be back. The guys who work here are just lovely - immaculate service and the decor is nice. Beautiful area upstairs too.
The Mute Swan is a beautiful pub and restaurant! It is two stories tall with lots of seating inside and out. We stopped in for a few drinks after visiting Hampton Court Palace. It is located directly across the street from the Palace. We saw mostly locals enjoying this establishment. It is not a tourist trap with high prices. The prices are extremely reasonable and there is a large selection food on the menu. Next time while in the area we will definitely have a meal. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. This place is also dog friendly which is always a plus. Beautiful!
Nice pub with good food! The red pepper hummus was delicious as were the padron peppers (although some were more roasted than others). For mains had a fish & chips and a beef bourguignon. Would recommend either. Spent around £23pp for food only.
I come here on the regs for a few drinks if in the Hampton Court area. They have some nice random brews when available such as Lowenbrau and Leffe. They also have had Pomelo of late, which is from the Twickenham beers stable.
The prices aren’t too bad for the area either and staff are always friendly. Have tired the food before and wasn’t overly impressed, but happy to rate 5/5 for all the drinks visits since. A good drinking pub with a nice outside area if you can find a space.
Excellent little pub with bags of charm, relaxed seating downstairs with more formal (but not snooty and still relaxed) dining upstairs. The food was full of flavour, well seasoned and felt that little bit special for a really reasonable price. Excellent friendly and attentive service.
It will not disappoint you. Very hungry after visit Tulip festival in Hampton Court Palace. This bar and restaurant just on the opposite street from the Palace entrance, think it may be so so ( based on travelling experience in the tourist area). It’s totally wrong! The staffs are very friendly, food portions are very generous and taste good, price is reasonable. And they provide light lunch before 5pm. The decor, food, service…everything is good to me. It’s really a nice place !
A local favorite (according to the a Hampton Court staff member)Pub with a vast selection of British beer and well prepared, tasty food. Relaxed and very friendly atmosphere.
Several cozy corner tables.
This Pub is across the street from Hampton Court. After a long misty day touring the Palace this was a warm and welcomed retreat.
I've been here 4 times, 3 of them in the last year.
The Sunday roast is amazing with large portion sizes. The chicken dish the 2nd time had lots of different flavours and was done perfectly. The lamb on the 3rd time wasn't as great as I had hoped but still good nonetheless.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Everything one could hope for at a place like this
Very good service with very friendly staff: we stopped by for lunch after visiting Hampton Court. I had the beet root burger and my husband had the chicken leek pie. Both were very good. We topped it off with a mini sticky toffee pudding (with ice cream) which was very tasty.
Definitely worth a visit here
