What an absolutely amazing restaurant. The design is lovely and single and all the members of staff are just wonderful. The food can't be rated, it was just too good. I had gone to dine in with a friend and ordered the Lamb Madras, Chilli Garlic Mushrooms (My favourite), Mixed Grill, Chilli Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi.

Came here with friends for a meal and a catch up and it never fails to deliver. We ordered veg starters which was off-the-chain for tastiness and portion size. For mains I got Hakka veg noodles which was slightly on the oily side for my liking but still liked the mix of veg especially those beautiful little spring onions. The service was first class and attentive.

Apparently there is a group on social media rating various eateries. This was one place to check out based on the group. I don't use social media so was curious.
We dined during a Saturday evening. No booking but was seated out back , which looks like a big extension which is impressive in many ways. All built around a large oak-tree. Impressive.
Front of house was extremely polite and welcoming. The member of staff was super polite and helpful with our menu selections and orders for beverages. Adding help and assistance along the way.
I opted for a mocktail which was delicious and my dining guest had a milkshake which looked very nice.
We chose starters which including chicken tikka and masala chips. Both were full of flavour and spice. In hindsight we should have shared our mains and naan to follow as the portion sizes for the mains were huge!
My main was good. Full of chicken to the brim! I can't remember was my friend had but this looked and smelt amazing. My garlic naan was nice. This is my go to along with chicken tikka masala. We even took sight of chef with a yellow hat, looked the part.
All things considered with price, service and quality you need to check this place out. Very recommended. Even the host looks like a magician in his red coat, a class act.

Came here on the off chance yesterday evening with my husband and two daughters. The food was really nice all veg ordered Hakka noodles, Mogo, Biriani, palak paneer and crispy bhajia. All mild as we didn't want to risk hot and the food was all tasty 😋. The very young waitress was lovely and background music nice. Toilets clean. So glad my 2 girls decided on choosing this place. Will be returning with my eldest daughter as she wasn't around. Compliments to the chef thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

This place was truly amazing. we walked in to a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff welcomed us as soon as we entered the door and guided us to the best seats possible. The restaurant was family-friendly and to make our lives easier, each table comes with a special button which alerts the waiters getting their attention effortlessly. The food is to die for. Far better than regencies, the food was made to order ( you were able to request any specifics such as mild, hot etc.) and service was absolutely amazing.

Food is good and service is very quick. Beers are cold and a nice atmosphere. Very close to queensbury station so handy for a meal or just a quick drink at the bar.

I liked the food. The service was pretty slow given there not many people sitting in the restaurant. I did not mind given I was not hungry but if I was it would have annoyed me.
I really liked the chilli paneer. I think it might be the nest I have had. The crispy Baja although did not look great, they tasted good. I really liked the saag aloo. The friends I were with thought everything else we had was ok but i liked it. They would have probably rated it a 3. We also had the Ferrero Rocher milkshake.
We paid 18 each. I think this is worth a try.

I cannot recommend this place enough!!
We arrived as a group of 8 without a booking during a very busy time (cricket match on) and were accommodated straight away.
The service has to be the best I've experienced in a very long time. Very attentive and always checking up on us. The food was fresh and probably the best I've tasted in a very long time. We sat there for 5 hours enjoying our food and time together with friends and were never rushed to leave (as I've experienced this before at another restaurant a few doors down from this restaurant).
The restaurant was full to capacity and that proves this place is worth going too.
This is definitely my new local now! Thank you to all the staff yesterday!! We will be back!!

The place I always wanted to try and went here a few weeks ago, with family the food is nice here but the only fault at this place was the fish tank in the middle of the restaurant had some dead fishes in the tank and while everyone was eating few of the staff and managers started to empty the tank out which I thought was something u didn't want to see while I was having my meal.

I thought it was about time the ladies wrote a review of Sugar and Spice. I personally will go back. Visited the place with my daughters. We had gone into Regency next door and it was awful (the men can have it) - we walked into Sugar and Spice and were made to feel very welcome and give great advice on food. We left feeling very full and happy. A big thank you to all the staff. See you again soon.

Value for money is fair for the portion size, this is a place where you come to eat at your leisure, the lamb byriani was cooked well with no powder ingredients showing allowing flavour to settle in, coriander was not over powering which means flavours poured out bite by bite. Lamb curry was not over powered by tomatoes and the after kick is refreshing as opposed to Hot...this place has plasma tv showing sports and Asian music channel added to the vibe. Worth the value for money. Ideal for families adults with kids for dining. The seating has buzzed to call over staff saving you the hassle waiting around to get the attention of the waiter. So close to Queensbury station and perfect if you prefer somewhere you don't have to fight to get a seat and more relaxed atmosphere. Yes it is more of a sports bar and yes the decor is not the Ritz but good food and nice friendly staff. Remember this is not a fine dining establishment so don't expect the same. Tried the Chicken 65 which tasted great and not too spicy. Will definitely visit again. I was presently surprised.

Don't go here WITHOUT trying the chicken 65 which will keep u returning again and again. Ask 'Sarvan' for the special chilli chutney and you simply won't go wrong! Can't get a space at Regency, never mind, walk next door to a totally hidden gem!!

We went on new years eve night since we could not get a table in another Indian restaurant. First, no attendant at the entrance to help with the seating. I stopped a waiter and instead of 'How can I help you?', he asked me 'Are you looking for something?'. I said yes, table for 2. Once settled down which was after 10 mins of entering the restaurant, we ordered Chicken 65. Menu is not very promising. We were not sure of the place, or food so thought of ordering only 1 starter first and then more if we are satisfied. And we asked for the bill after the starter so you could imagine how horrible the experience was.<br/>Chicken 65 looked more of Chinese dish. Was prepared with chicken dipped in Orange batter. Something similar to veg pagoda batter. And when we told the waiter that chicken 65 is not prepared the right way, he said "that's how it's prepared here".<br/>Before we asked for the bill, we thought of giving one more chance and asked the waiter about 'Mixed Kebab with Rice'. He was totally unaware that there is a fast food dish with this name in the menu. Then he said it's Lamb Kebab with rice, and added 'maybe'. He didn't even try to ask and confirm with the kitchen if he was in doubt. <br/><br/>Reason for 1 rating is it's very close to the Queensbury station. They says it's a family restaurant and bar lounge but not a percent close to what they claim. Have a pathetic ambience and according to me, do not have a family friendly ambience. No structured way of seating. Service team was confused with the tables and didnt expect much from this place since it was half empty on new years eve, but our experience was worse.<br/><br/>When we were leaving, the waiter said that next time they will give discount. But, there won't be a next time.
