Under new ownership, we were curious to see if the recipe was the same, and were not at all disappointed.
This has to be the creamiest, most flavoursome vanilla ice cream that I have ever tasted.
They have expanded the range of flavours, but I didn't get a chance to check any of them out - will have to try more next time I am over from Australia.

Faaaaantastic proper scoop ice cream, loads of flavours and very nice too. Made on the premises too. Well worth travelling the extra mile for. Plus a lovely little shop selling all sorts of pies, cakes, gifts etc. And proper nice stuff. Not the cheapest, but an all round lovely shop in my books.

Holdens, on Blackburn Road, Edgworth, champions a reputation which extends way beyond Edgworth, not least for its tremendous ice cream which people are prepared to queue for. Do not be a stranger, and if you are walking a circular route from Turton Tower be sure to plan some time for a rendezvous with Holdens' ice cream!

We used to visit this little gem as kids for ice cream and honestly it's even better now. There's literally a treat round ever corner! Their famous ice cream, wine, treats, groceries, a gift shop and a superb bakery where we couldnt resist a selection of cannoli. Can't wait to visit again soon!

What a lovely little place 😊 I decided to stop off to buy some bottled drinks for the journey home 🚴 I noticed a little cafe in the back.. So I got a pot of tea, with a delicious cream tea, a bottle of elderflower drink and a bottle of water, all for less than a tenner..

The best ice cream shop in miles and has been going probably longer than my lifetime! Stuck for something to do on a sunny Sunday? Have a drive over to Holdens and have a walk around the lakes in the area. Holdens only used to offer their famous creamy ice cream but these days they offer a vast choice of flavours.

Holdens is a staple for any hikers or walkers any time of year, from ice cream to lovely pastries.
It can get busy in the summer but the wonderful flavours are worth waiting for.

This is a hidden gem of a place! We had visited the area to go to the play area there. This is a short walk away and did not disappoint. Lots of choices of ice cream as well as tubs/cones/flakes etc. They aren't tight with the portions either! The ice cream is delicious. The shop area selling fresh produce also looked lovely and well-maintained.
