Number One At The Balmoral - Edinburgh - Photo album

The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. The place is beautifully decorated and exudes solidity. The service was of the highest level from A to Z and leaves nothing to be desired. We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Number One, which was only possible thanks to the brilliant team. Many tha
No doubt the tasting menu deserved a 5-star review. Simply covering a lot of culinary skills and phenomenal visual presentation in one meal. The only area I would suggest the restaurant improving was their tea storage conditions. I ordered a pot of tea at the end of the meal, but the tea leaves seem
This restaurant is fabulous, couldn't fault anything about the experience, highly recommend.
Fine dining at its best! Every dish is thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and divine. My husband and I dined here recently and were treated to an incredible 7-course meal. Scott and Keith took great care of us while we were here and we enjoyed chatting with the executive chef at the end of the meal, to
Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Extremely attentive, welcoming and helpful staff. Exceptional presentation and tastes. Definetly enjoyed the amount served to the point of being completely satisfied. One of the best meals I've had, and so far it edges out as the best Michelin star restaurant meal I'v
All 7 courses of our tasting menu were exceptional. The prestige wines that accompanied each dish were very good. The still white wines were served very chilled. Too cold in my view. I would have preferred 12C to 14C range to open up the aroma and flavour. As a digestive I selected the grappa. The b
Excellent. We had the tasting menu, and the kedgeree and the carrot pudding were particularly delicious. The sommelier knew his stuff and talked up the wine in the matched wine menu, and that definitely added to the delicious food. We were very impressed.
Michelin quality restaurant without the star. Easily a one star restaurant. Having been to multiple Michelin starred restaurants, one realizes the ratings are inconsistent and I use them only as a general guide. Price was reasonable for the quality and service. Tasting menu was great across the
This was a great restaurant, great service and very knowledgeable staff. The start, the sommelier was very knowledgeable about his wine and has a great selection of wines. We choose the 7 course tasting menu. We enjoyed each plate, some more than others but especially the chocolate truffle bomb a
A huge thank you to Emma and all the team for a truly unforgettable evening on Sunday. We enjoyed an outstanding meal, the wine pairing was excellent also. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
While on vacation, we wanted to try the tasting menu at Number One. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate my gluten allergy. We loved EVERY course. As Americans, it was a great way for us to taste local items. The dishes were equally scrumptious and beautiful. We've been to other Michelin starre
The food is as excellent as the service. Friendly and helpful staff cater to your every need and make the experience seem special. The menu is interesting and varied and provides a 3 course or taster menu. There is also a full vegetarian menu available on request. Extra touches like canapes, pre-che
Updated 2019 even better possibly one of the best tasting menus ever, oyster and lovage, scallop kedgeree still smiling. Original review - Its the little things. The tasting menu is a must, the matching wines if you enjoy are a lovely add on. The bread is always stunning but their gruyere loaf is si
Amazing food and service. I'd definitely recommend the tasting menu and the (super-knowledgeable) sommeliers matched wines. It all cost a small fortune, but it is definitely an experience and education worth having at least once in your life. The staff were incredible and the surroundings are great.
The food is very good. The service is excellent and atmosphere is comfortable. But there is little choice but mainly set dinner only.
So unexpectedly good! Had the best dinner of our trip here .. amazing atmosphere, unassuming staff but excellent service, and delicious food. We got the a la cart .. scallops were to die for, the pigeon was delicious; for dessert, def go with the strawberry over pinapple. So elegant and fresh.
Probably one of the best dining locale in Edinburgh. Excellent menu selection, great wine pairing and overall ambience was top notch. They anticipate your needs and pace the meal really well. Scallops, foie gras and halibut dishes excellent. Taste, balance and overall presentation spot on. If I had
Food was sublime. Lots of regional influences, rather fish focused. Wine pairing completes the experience.
