Amazing 'noma' inspired dinner. Only one seating per night. Fixed tasting menu. Everything sourced locally (if possible) and freshly made. Very creative dishes. Loved the raw scallops with green almonds. Seat is at two large communal tables. Dinner takes about three hours. Service was friendly a d quick. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great experience.

Excellent food, great tasting menu and fine hosting Had a marvellous evening, with a varied and delicious tasting menu that was a constant and pleasant surprise. Ben is a great host and the kitchen staff are cool. Delightful atmosphere in the restaurant and overall an excellent experience. Very reasonably priced. Look forward to going again

For lunch we had the fixed menu of 6 different courses and we enjoyed them all, some surprises that we really liked such as the brassicas in a beef vinaigrette. We also had drinks, so glad to see Bon Accord soft drinks especially the rhubarb and 3 Scottish beers, I had the Cosmic Crush Raspberry Sour from Brewdog which was very refreshing. The service is good explaining each dish and you can view the chefs making the dishes up.

Our first visit here was to a Brazilian style lunch. We really enjoyed the whole experience. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and well looked after. The chef spoke about all the courses we were going to have that evening which sounded amazing and luckily they were!

Another brilliant evening at the Studio this time with Italian Spanish chef Giacomo Hassan from L'Alegria in Barcelona. Five starters, three main and two deserts of very accomplished creative dishes using excellent ingredients. Nothing fancy, nothing unnecessary just lovely dishes.

I mean seriously what is this all about. Once in a while a group of people get together and the raw creative talents explodes in taste bombs that are so profoundly complex and yet simple it is hard to explain. I think some sort of black magic is practised here under the guise of being a restaurant. You simply shouldn't be able to do stuff this well without some mountain in a far off land crumbling into the sea. Now I thought I knew a bit about the layers and depths of tastes. Eating here is a bit like learning how to taste like a grown up coupled with the excitement of a child. Places like this are rare indeed. Truly for the gastronomic pleasure seekers and the dreameaters. Eat here and set the flavor benchmark for how food could taste if everyone gave as much of a f%@k as this team of champions.

Amazing concept and very charming and professional service. We enjoyed an impressive menu made of Scottish ingredients, every course introduced by the owner and head chef Ben Reade. Wine pairing was spot on with outstanding, carefully selected wines from small producers. An evening to remember, not only because of the unique atmosphere but also because of the perfectly prepared and plated dishes of outstanding quality.

A good addition to the Edinburgh restaurant scene. The only option is a seven course tasting menu, there is only one sitting per evening and you are seated at one of two communal tables. The food was well cooked and presented with a lot of the ingredients being sourced locally. The matched wines were slightly unusual and not all to my taste but a lot of consideration had choosing the. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. If you are a foodie this place is definitely worth a visit.

Awesome food experience. The evening was perfect from start to finish. The guest chef Nur's tasting menu was well balanced and delicious. The wine list was extensive and put together with lots of thought. The staff was friendly, casual but very attentive and knowledgeable. Very impressed!

This place is pretty unique , mainly because it is pretty informal yet the food is top end. Mainly tasting menus. Some flexibility to accomodate allergies/ preferences but they don't always get everything quite right - I was served seeds even though I was really clear I have an intolerance and I noticed an adjoining couple experienced a missing course. All this was dealt with in exemplary manner. The food itself is fresh, seasonal, cooked with care and interesting if not actually ground breaking. Nice wines. Need to book ahead. Tables are shared and when it's busy it can be noisy.

Great experience. A small venue of 20 people across two large wooden tables. A direct view if the busy kitchen where young chefs put new recipe into living dishes! Set menu in the evening. Really enjoyed it! 😋

Probably the most exciting restaurant in Edinburgh right now, an ever changing tasting menu at the cutting edge of food, with a shifting roster of incredible guest chefs. The attention to detail and quality is exceptional, and the food is always special and interesting, without being overly theatrical. The atmosphere is one of collective anticipation of the good things to come, and the delight of being able to geek out about what you've eaten with the people who prepared it. This is food prepared by people who love food, and want to share their excitement about new things - unique and wonderful.

No menus, 2 long bench tables, off the beaten path, SUPERB in every way The tasting menu was absolutely delicious and interesting and unique from start to finish. The affable and knowledgeable chef Ben Reade introduced every course and mingled with the diners throughout the experience, creating a cosy and laid-back atmosphere for the roughly two dozen guests. The food and wine was anything but casual with every detail perfectly researched and balanced. The chef's encyclopedic understanding of wine made the wine pairing as rewarding as the tasting menu. It was also incredibly reasonably priced, especially considering both quality and originality. Andrew Fairlie's was the best meal / dining experience of my life before Edinburgh Food Studio. But if you asked me where I'd want to again right now, guess where I'd pick?!? Edinburgh Food Studio : Just Go!!
