Got take away from here twice and the food was delicious. Both times the food was so flavorful, wish we had similar food back home. The picture doesn't fo the food justice.

The service was fantastic, a very kind lady served us. The chef was smiley too.
The place was simply but nicely decorated, not too big, but only 4 tables taken on a Thursday night (during Ramadan month). Service was pretty quick too.
The king prawns were fantastic! And the rest of the food too, sorry, I don't remember the names of the plates, but tried chicken and lamb and both were great.
The baklava was mouth watering. The best I've ever had!
Thank you!

We stopped here before seeing a show at the EICC and it was amazing. We received the best service from the staff, and our food was prepared very quickly and tasted fantastic. I would definitely recommend eating here!!

The restaurant is delicious, the food is balanced, the chicken and meat melt in the mouth. The owners of the restaurant are the ones who prepare the food, serve it, and supervise it. They are nice and happy to deal with. The area of āāthe restaurant is good and its furniture is beautiful. Comfortable sitting and eating in it. I wish you success and open many branches, God willing, thank you.

So glad that we found this wee gem tonight. Was very quiet for a Friday night during the festival. I don't understand why as the service and food was amazing! Lovely family run restaurant. Delicious food and very friendly staff. Would love to come back .

This place was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best meals I've had in Edinburgh so far. The owners were really nice and I liked how you can watch them prepare the food. A huge recommendation!

I had dinner here at 3 consecutive nights with my family during my trip to Edinburgh. I tried 3 or 4 different dishes & they were all awesome. They have a very good kids menu as well. The experience was made better by a kind lady called Kader & two brothers who served with us the food. The lady was so nice & spoke with such warmth that my son would insist to go back to that restuarant each night ! I would recommend people to try this cosy eatery out & you wont be disappointed.

OMG! The BEST authentic Turkish food! No shortcuts taken - fire grilled meats, healthy servings, excelwnt everything (olives, humus, lamb, even the chicken). I am totally ruined by this experience and can never eat another Americanized Turkish restaurant again! Family owned - and I bet they wouldnāt let anyone else cook! You have to go!

A family owned restaurant that serves undeniably flavourful food and has generous servings, they have a peaceful and quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy dining with family or friends. We had an amazing time, canāt wait to be back again. Highly recommended

When we go away we look for a Turkish restaurant. We were not disappointed with this one. The food was beautiful.... I recommend everything āŗļø. The Meze was fresh and not a drop left over.. we had fresh salad and Charcoal flamed meat platter.. which was sooo tasty. A bonus with bring your own wine.. Service was personal... When we are back in Edinburgh we will be back here without a doubt and I can't wait already.
Thank you for beautiful food

Me and my cousin decided to try this place for the first time tonight and all I can say is that I am over the moon with my experience, the food was absolutely great and filled with flavor. The staff were amazing, made us feel very welcome with positive vibes. Definitely a great place to eat and will be returning very soon thank you to all the staff :)

Iām sure Iāve had better charcoal grilled meat in my lifetime but Rodi gets the job done well. The marinated meat simply isnāt tasty enough and a lot of it is just grilled to dry.

The service is a whole other matter though, probably some of the friendliest and most welcoming people own this place!

Iāve been to Edinburgh couple of times and stumble upon Rodi Restaurant while searching on google.

When I first arrived, the restaurant is a bit small yet comfortable. The decoration, gave you a feeling that you are eating at a Turkish restaurant in Turkey itself.

The staff are very friendly it feels like we known for a long time and treat us first time visit customers as returning customers.

Iāve been to a lot of Turkish restaurant. But, hands down this is the most delicious Turkish food i ever tasted in my life. The tenderness of the meat and freshness of the salad combine with special sauce make you grateful that you are alive to taste the food. After couple of hours, the taste still lingers on my mouth

We stumbled upon Rodi when we were going to the EICC for a Fringe show and I'm very glad we did! The staff are very friendly and the food is very well cooked.
We shared some halloumi to start, which was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. I then chose the Karisik for my main so I could enjoy a selection of different meats. Enjoy is an understatement. The meats each had their own flavour but the lamb chops were deliciously salty and the chilli and garlic sauces were great with the rice.
We had a quick meal here but I will definitely be going back to try more of their meze dishes, and I would certainly order the Karisik again!

Recently I have read many articles talking about what food trends to expect in 2016. Amongst these, Turkish cuisine appears to be a hot topic. In all honesty, I havenāt eaten a lot of Turkish cuisine, however more and more Turkish restaurants are opening in Edinburgh, I thought it was about time I gave it a go.

I am very much disappointed and hopefully never visit Rodi again. We went there with a group of friends and from the total price of 200Ā£ promised while ordering it suddenly increased to 400Ā£ at the end. They simply CHEATED all of us. I do not recommend Rodi at all. They just feed you mostly with chicken which is not a Turkish typical meat after all... pieces od lamb were greasy, you could hardly find meat on them. If you want to taste delicious Turkish food, better book a flight to London which costs you 30Ā£ round way (you will save 370Ā£!!!!!!) and visit Haringey which is a paradise for Turkish cuisine and you would pay for the meal we ordered just 150Ā£!!!!! Not even mention GREED with no serving normal black tea. If you are thinking about place to eat, just visit Scottish or Italian restaurant and you'll be happy.

Don't go there! I don't recommend this place at all! They cheat their customers by asking more money than you established at the beginning! After meal they asked 100% more money than before the meal.

Food is also terrible. They just serve lots of chicken when you buy mixed kebab. Chicken should be cheap. In London, in Haringey Street there are lots of Turkish restaurants, like Diyarbakir, which is much cleaner, cheaper, friendlier and much much much better food and no surprise prices!

So I cannot stress enough that this place is just rubbish! I will never go there again.

Excellent Turkish halal restaurant and very good service! Best Adana I've had in Edinburgh. Staff was extremely friendly.
Will definitely be returning soon.

Rodi is Edinburgh's best Turkish restaurant - and one of our favourites in any cuisine. Food is great, relaxed, friendly atmosphere and staff. It's a real, authentic neighbourhood place. Highly recommended!

Massive portions - tasty food. The food was so authentic and delicious, the portions for the business lunch were huge though - no breakfast required that day. The tasty was gorgeous - only thing is a little quiet but hopefully will pick up as 'summer' comes in

Iām confident they will become a firm favourite with Edinburgh diners, as their food is delicious

Since ever I can remember, the corner of Morrison Street and Gardenerās Crescent has been home to a chip shop, most recently called Pierinoās.

I was intrigued when signs for a Turkish BBQ place went up, a little while back, and was frankly astonished when I saw the refit of the place through the window, when I was walking home from dinner, the other night. I made a note to visit, at the earliest opportunity, which was this evening.

Seating around 30, the place has been completely transformed. The layout of tables is a little strange, and everything feels a little new, but itās really quite smart, with some lovely slate detailing.

The menu is classically Turkish, with a strong emphasis on their impressive open charcoal BBQ. Iām a big fan of Turkish food, with my strong connections to Istanbul, so I was glad to see so many favourite dishes on offer. I ordered sucuk to start, followed by a chicken and lamb kebab served on a bed of aubergine.

Pieces of spiced sucuk sausage was simply presented, on a bed of lettuce, and served with lovely fresh bread. It was a good opener.
The main course was a notch or two better. The chicken and lamb pieces were served in tomato sauce, then accompanied by rice, a side salad and two really unusual onion dishes. The first of these was burnt shallots in an intense dressing, which I strongly suspect was pomegranate based. It was an absolutely outstanding combination.

The main event, the skewer barbecued chicken and lamb, was excellent, too. The meat was beautifully tender and packed with flavour. The other accompaniments were all strong dishes, making it a considerable feast.
Things were rounded out with outstandingly good homemade baclava and Turkish tea. It had been a most enjoyable restaurant experience, with service warm and friendly, throughout.

So overall, Rodi is a really welcome new addition to the dining circuit. Once theyāve grown in to their new premises a little more, Iām confident they will become a firm favourite with Edinburgh diners, as their food is delicious. I look forward to my next visit, and would strongly recommend that you pay it a visit.

Scores
Blythe scores Rodi
4/5 for food
3.5/5 for presentation
3.5/5 for setting
4/5 for service
giving an overall 15/20

I ate: sucuk; patlicanli kebab, baclava

I drank: Turkish tea

I wore: classic pinstripes

Total bill: Ā£20.80
