Quite a nice place, overall. The acoustic of the place is not ideal: we struggled to hear each other although the place was far from busy. The dishes were quite small. The 🐟 was quite tasty. The Italian wine was great. The plum cake was unexpected: not exactly bad but too homemade for the image this place delivers.

Chance encounter to this brasserie. Lovely food and varied menu with hard to find ingredients (rabbit/ swordfish). Cooked excellently with technique and passion, uncompromising in quality and fair prices.

I have had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant on two occasions, and during my last visit, I noticed that it was no longer recommended by Michelin. However, it became apparent that there have been significant improvements since my previous visit. Our meal consisted of belgnet, ravioli, veal, sea trout, lamb, guinea fowl, and two vegetarian sides. The starters and main dishes were all exceptionally delicious. However, the two vegetarian sides left much to be desired and did not seem to justify their cost of £7 each. The final subtotal for our bill came to £116, which I found to be quite reasonable. One notable aspect that could be improved is the service. It appeared that only two waitresses were managing the entire restaurant, and although they put forth considerable effort, the service was somewhat lacking. This might be alleviated by having additional staff on hand. It was also a bit disappointing to learn that seating in the fancy window-side area is not available on a first-come-first-served basis; instead, it must be reserved in advance. Lastly, it was disheartening to discover that the restaurant no longer serves rabbit meat, which was once a signature dish. This change was quite surprising and left me somewhat dismayed.

Came here for family lunch with 3 teenagers & 2 grandparents. Atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely: vibey but chilled. Food delicious - don't think I've ever tasted anything so good as the Suquet de Pie (Catalan fish stew). Everyone delighted with the inventive and passionately cooked menu. Staff lovely from the chef who came and chatted to us about the ingrendients, to the waitresses, to the kitchen porter :) Will definitely be back.

What a joy to fall down The Rabbit Hole’s delicious lunch menu ! At the end of a long walk, we stumbled upon this cozy restaurant and had a wonderful feast for an incredibly reasonable price. The crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had, the sea bass was crispy and cooked to perfection. Service was simply delightful, the ladies looking after us were incredibly attentive without being overbearing. If you can’t tell, I’m a bit smitten with this place and can’t wait to return to Edinburgh just for a meal here .

Such a great place, every dish was delicious and the accompanying vegetables were tastier and more originally presented than ever. A big well done to the team for excellent service with a smile.

The Rabbit Hole was such a elegant and cozy restaurant! We really enjoyed our dinner. Very friendly staff. For starter I took the soup and as main dish the North Atlantic Coly, both dishes were so wonderful! I would really recommend a visit.

Great experience from the time you open the door until you leave. All the waitress were extremely nice. The service was great in general. We ve ordered the Canard and the Prawns (starters), the Trout and the Turkey (mains) and the treackle tart and choc cake with ice cream. All the food was excellent, however the turkey dish suppose to come with pomme Anna and came with mash which was asked by the waitress if it is ok. Overall For the price paid I think couldn't be fairer. Highly recommended.

Very lovely set lunch. Prompt and efficient service. Food tastes delicious and fresh. Had crab cakes for starters which was buttery soft and did not taste ā€˜fishy’. The sea-bass was cooked to perfection and the accompanying veg complemented it well. The orange posset and ginger crumble gave a fresh and light ending. Would come back for a 2nd visit!

Stopped in for lunch without a reservation. Oops. Luckily we were seated with the understanding that we needed be be finished by 2pm. We all chose the set lunch menu. Some started with a cheese souffle, while I ordered the clams, cockles and saffron potatoes. Both were outstanding. Next came the bavette with chips for some while I went for the rabbit leg. Beef was very good and the rabbit leg was also. Very much enjoyed the pace and service. Highly recommend
